The Bama Belles Rock!

Now, y'all know that I'm Southern and love all things Southern. I also love Tough Country Women. So, when I saw the previews for the new TLC show, Bama Belles, I thought, 'now that looks like a show I could enjoy'! I'm not a fan of any of the Real Housewives shows; they just don't do it for me. But Bama Belles looked pretty good!

So, I tweeted that, on December 4th. In fact, I tweeted this:

dsfunctionalmomI'm looking forward to the new TLC show Bama Belles....it has potential....

Well, today, December 11th, I happened to check my @mentions on Twitter, and I saw this:

amiepollard@ ...You rock!! This Bama Belle says Thanks for the luv!!

That is Amie Pollard, the star of Bama Belles, the radio show host, herself! I totally flipped. I was SO MAD that I missed it when she tweeted it back on December 4th! But I immediately replied with:

dsfunctionalmom@amiepollard OMG, you tweeted me! I'm about to pass out!

Because I am all kinds of cool and smoooothe.
And she answered right back!

amiepollard@dsfunctionalmom I just think it's awesome that u luv Bama Belles!!

dsfunctionalmom@amiepollard I did love the show! I can't wait for the next one.

amiepollard@dsfunctionalmom tomorrow night at 9CT@ TLC!! Bama Belles tell your friends too! C u there!!

So clearly, we are BFFs now. I am now stalking following her on Twitter (of course),and her Facebook page as well as the Bama Belles Facebook page. And since she is my BFF, I wanted to tell you all that you should be watching her show and following her too, because she ROCKS! And so does Bama Belles.

Freaky Friday Fragments!

Well, it's Friday October 30th, the day before Halloween.

Time for some Freeeeeeaky Friday Fragments!

Tonight is Trick or Treat on Main Street in my little town. It's a lot of fun and the kids can't wait! We usually trick or treat on the 31st, but the Florida vs. Georgia game is that night. We love our football in this town, my friends, so there will be NO trick or treating while the Gators are playing!

We decided, in an effort to cut back, to go back to basic mobile phones. Which means, no mobile internet. Which means, very little Twitter. Sad, but true. And necessary. I miss my Twitter friends much! And it's hard to get used to a plain old dumb phone when you've been spoiled by a Smart Phone. *sigh*

Last month I started working Monday - Friday nights, five 8-hour shifts. My boss asked if I could switch to working Sunday - Thursday nights, same shifts. I decided that would actually work out even better, since I wouldn't have to work every Friday night. So I switched this weekend. Last week I worked Monday-Friday, this week I worked Sunday-Thursday. Which means I worked 10 days with only one day off in between. I.am.SO.over.this.place!! I can't wait to go home and curl up in bed.

Speaking of which, I didn't get much sleep yesterday. I had to get up and go to the little kids' school, because Elayna got an Aiming High award! It was for outstanding character.

Attention All Parents! It's very important that you go and read this hilarious valuable information about keeping your kids safe on Halloween, brought to you by World of Weasels. You wouldn't want your kids to get into your candy any trouble or danger. So check it out!

What are your kids going to be for Halloween? How about you, do you dress up? I'm thinking of dressing up this year.

Hope you have a great one!

As always, don't forget to visit Mrs 4444 for more Friday Fragments!

BlogHop '09

I go and announce that I'm taking my first ever Blog Break, and what happens? I stumble upon this awesome party going on this weekend! It's BlogHop '09. I'm all about a party, so I just had to crank out one quick post and join in on this one. It's a little fun for those of us who aren't at BlogHer '09. I'd love to be there - maybe next year!
So, here's a little about me:
My name is Cyndy. My husband, John, and I have been married for 4 years. Between the two of us, we have four children. Our boys are 16 & 9 years old, and the girls are 13 & 8. They are all awesome kids & we're very proud of them. My husband also has an angel baby, his firstborn son, who lived only 3 weeks. We live in a small town in North Florida.
John is my hero; I never imagined finding a man like him. He is such a good person and so laid-back. He took on a stressed-out single mom and her three kids, and loves us and takes care of us. He also makes me laugh even when I am in the foulest mood EVER. We are very good for each other.
I'm a little bit of a hippy who wants to save the world. We volunteer as much as we can, and try to help charities in small ways. One of those is the March for Babies, as John's firstborn son was a preemie. We walk & raise money in his memory at least once a year.
We are very committed to animal rescue, and foster cats and dogs. We currently have four dogs, three cats, and one fish of our own, and a handful of foster kittens.
I work nights full time at a hospital, and will soon be going to college to start the prerequisites I need for nursing school, which is exciting and a little terrifying.
We love going to outdoor concerts, the springs, the beach, river, lake....we like water. We love camping. I'm all about making memories and having fun. We love to laugh.
I'm not a type-A, overachieving kind of mom. I'm a DysFUNctional kind of mom. I'd rather leave the dishes in the sink and take the kids to the park. Our house is a chaotic zoo (which is why my Twitter name is CyndysZoo!). And that's the way we like it.
There's so much more to say, but this is supposed to be a quick introduction and I think I passed that a couple of paragraphs ago!
Thanks for stopping by, and happy Hopping!

Things I'm Into Right Now

I originally stole this idea from my friend, Irregular Tammie.

It's summer time and hot as hell in Florida. As the seasons change, so do the things I'm 'into'.

These are the Things I'm Into Right Now.

~~Sweet Tea...ok so I'm always into that, but especially on these hot summer days & nights.

~~~~~grilling out...hubby does the cooking and the house doesn't get all heated up. Win/win! And I LOVE food cooked on the grill.
~~Butterfly Flower body spray/lotion/wallflowers/room spray/etc. from Bath & Body Works. It smells AMAZING.
~~~~~lying on a blanket with Elayna in the backyard, looking for falling stars.

~~Free Friday Concerts, which I mentioned in this post. This weekend a reggae group will be performing. Yeah mon!

~~~~~sitting on the porch, relaxing with good drinks and good friends.
~~Twitter and my CrackBlackberry. The addictions go hand in hand.
~~~~~Spirit Jumping. This is a wonderful organization that lifts the spirits of people who are suffering with cancer or other major health problems. It's a wonderful group to be a part of!

Random Tuesday Thoughts 4.7.09

randomtuesday

I'm posting my random Tuesday thoughts again, because I am the kind of person who knows her strengths and weaknesses. And by God, I am good at Random.
Yes I am.

~ I ordered a Blackberry online last week and I have been very impatiently awaiting its arrival. I really thought it would arrive yesterday, but no luck. If it doesn't arrive today, there will be tears and threats. Watch out, T-mobile!

~ I'm Twittering again. And I can really jump into it with both feet once I finally get my Crackberry. So, look me up! I'm CyndysZoo.

~ Have you ever noticed that you can tell when a person is miserable inside? No matter how hard they try to fake it, their actions almost always reveal the truth.

~ Have you ever noticed that misery loves company? I wonder why that is. Just go be miserable by yourself, ya know? Leave the happy people alone!

~ Speaking of happy, check this out! I won a beautiful lampwork beaded bracelet, handmade by my bloggy friend Tara from If Mom Says OK. How cool is that?! Not only is it beautiful and just my style, but it will remind me of my friend each time I put it on. Love it!!

~ My kids are spending the week with their Dad for Spring Break. This is their first time spending Spring Break with him. I'm not going to know how to act with my house empty for such a long stretch of time! My only plans are to sleep...and celebrate my anniversary Thursday. ;o)

~ As of this weekend, we'll be fostering kittens! We'll be picking up a litter of four 5-week-old kittens this Saturday. Oh, the cuteness! I will most definitely be posting pics.

~ Speaking of kittens....this is what Elayna likes to do with my old makeup.

Do you have Random Thoughts to share this Tuesday?
