Hold On - We're Headed for a Better Life!

YAY It's time for a Happy List, and I have some Happy to, umm, LIST!  WOOHOO
~~~ I have some awesome bloggy friends, as y'all know.  One of them recently, got sick of hearing me whine knowing I was feeling down, offered to do something for me as a pick me up.  It's currently in the works and I am SO excited!  Hint: Watch. This. Spot!!!*UPDATE* If you're reading from your reader, CLICK YOUR BUTT OVER HERE!  It's done and OMG, looking at it takes me to my happy place.  It makes me feel calm & comforted.  Seriously, I LOVE this design!  Thank you thank you sweet friend, you are amazing!!!
~~~ My car was broken.  Now it's fixed.  For free!  HAPPY!!
~~~ I'm slowly getting the new house organized & decorated.  This is the part of moving that I actually like! 
~~~ I have a long weekend ahead and I have ordered sunny weather.  I WILL HAVE SUNNY WEATHER!!!  That is all.

Happy List Time!!!

* First of all, I'm Happy that I have enough Happy to create a Happy List.

* I'm Happy that Tim Tebow and Taylor Swift are a couple. I heart both of them SO HARD, always have. We have met Tim Tebow, even have pics & his autograph, which basically makes us all BFF's now. I'm sure Taylor's going to be calling me any day so we can all get together. *hairflip*

* I'm Happy that Elayna is playing softball again! It's so good for her; the physical activity, the team bonding, everything about it. I am SO not athletic. At.All. But I love that she gets out there and does her best.

* I'm Happy that Facebook exists. There are so many things that have happened in my life that would never have happened without it. Most recently, a middle school friend of my son's found us on Facebook. They were extremely close and stayed in contact for years, but they changed phone numbers eventually and lost touch. I LOVE this kid; he's another one of my adopted children. I had searched for him on FB many times, with no success, but finally he found us and I am so happy! I can't wait to see him.

* I am Happy that the girls & I are doing great on our own. Shelbie put together a shelf for the bathroom and we just figure out how to do most everything we need to do, on our own. Tim helps a lot, but we do a lot ourselves. And we try to make it fun; last night after taking the trash to the dumpster, we had a trash can race back to our house, which doesn't sound interesting but somehow ended up HILARIOUS.

* I'm Happy that I have some AMAZING people in my life. A-MAZ-ING.

* Oh yeah, one more thing....I'm Happy that you're reading this post because apparently Google Friend Connect went away which is something I'm sure I should have paid attention to, but I kind of didn't, so if you're still reading here....thanks!

Whole Lotta Happy Going On...

~*Happy*~

~ Elayna had a great birthday yesterday! My baby is 11. Bittersweet!

~ I believe I have found the perfect little place for me & the girls, and we should be moving soon!

~ My niece Heather's baby is due in less than a month. We are super excited!

~ I have less stress now than I have had in many, many years. Although I deal with my own anxiety with learned techniques & medication, I still struggle with being a 'sponge' for others' anxiety. When they refuse to deal with their anxiety, it makes it difficult. Now that I no longer am dealing with that issue, it's like a huge weight has been lifted off of me. It feels great.

~ Soon, the past 8 years will be a closed chapter of my life. Lessons learned! And my maiden name will be restored. And yes - that makes me very HAPPY!

~ I have wonderful, supportive friends - both "IRL" and online - and they all make me feel loved & cared about & so happy.

It's Tuesday, time for Happy Lists! And I have a whole lotta HAPPY today!
Remember my niece who is pregnant, and torturing me by waiting to announce the baby's sex at a party?
Well....first of all, the party had to be moved up due to her husband's work schedule, which of course made me HAPPY!!
...and we had it LAST NIGHT!!!
So the cake was cut, to reveal that Heather & DJ are expecting.......




A BABY GIRL!!!!! Which brings me to my Happy List.

Now, if she was having a boy, I'd still have a Happy List. I honestly had no preference. But I can't wait to start spoiling a girl! And girls definitely have the best clothes & shoes. ;-)

Happy Stuff

Iiiiit's HAPPY TIME! Here I go!
* I have finally started seeing clients at my new job. And I LOVE it! One client in particular is just awesome. She is 93 and keeps me laughing the entire time I'm with her. LOVE her. I'll give you just one little gem from her, about the girl who had taken care of her the previous day: "She was real nice, but she was dressed like a tramp."
* I went out to karaoke Friday night with my BFF. We hadn't been in a while and I was SO ready for a night out! First we went to dinner at a BBQ restaurant, and brought 4 of our 6 kids with us. We all had a blast, although I'm not sure we're welcome back in that establishment. ;-) It was a fun night.
* My oldest son Tim has changed so much recently, in a good way. Last night he totally blew my mind. Earlier in the day, he and Elayna, my 10 year old, were playing video games, and they were bickering in the way that siblings often do while playing video games. I didn't pay any attention, to be honest. Then Tim went off to work, and when he got home late last night, he and I were sitting around talking, along with my oldest daughter. Then out of the blue, he asked me if Elayna was in bed, then got up and went into her room. When he came out about 5 minutes later I asked "What were you doing?" And he said "I was being mean to her earlier today when we were playing video games and I wanted to apologize. I felt really bad."
And then they had to revive me with smelling salts.....no seriously, though, I was floored. Shocked. And impressed. That was SO out of character for him. When Elayna got up this morning I asked her if he'd been unusually mean yesterday, but she said no. She seemed shocked too, but I know it absolutely made her day. My kids fight like all kids do, but they truly love each other and it's nice when I get to see that side of them.
* And my friends are still at it; brightening my day on a daily basis, reminding me that I am not the alone in the day to day craziness of life, and that they love me.

* OMG, are you watching Halloween Wars? It's like Cupcake Wars, Halloween edition, only without the cupcakes. (I know, that made no sense.) It's the same host & setup as Cupcake Wars, but they carve pumpkins and use cake and candy to make these incredible Halloween scenes. I LOVE it!

Happy List Time!!

Note: I'm putting DysFUNctional MOMents on hiatus for now.

For one thing, I just don't have any extra time to devote to it.

And for another, Mamarazzi (one of my favorite bloggers EVER!!) has moved her Happy List to Tuesday!

So without further ado, let's get happy!

~ I've mentioned this one already recently, but I am SO excited about my new job, or I should actually say, career. Every day I learn more and become more confident that it's a wonderful company and right where I need to be. Happy!

~ I have to say it again - I have amazing friends who build me up and support me no matter what, and they make me all kinds of happy!

~ My son Tim is living with me full time now. He LOVES his new job and they love him. He works his butt off. Best of all, he is happy - very happy. His whole attitude has changed. I have loved him with all my heart since I found out I was pregnant, but I will tell you straight up that there have been moments where I have not LIKED him a whole lot. But now, he is so much fun to be around. And when my babies are happy, Mama is HAPPY!

~ We find out at the end of this month if my niece is having a baby boy or girl. Her pregnancy is progressing wonderfully and I am SOOOO FREAKING HAPPY!!! I can't wait to squeeze a fresh new baby!!

~ FALL! I say it every year, I LOVE FALL! It's my favorite season. Soon I will be whining about the cold, but I love the season, the way things look, the events of fall, the decorations, and HALLOWEEN! Happy!!

~ All of these HAPPY things have combined to give me a fresh new outlook on life. I'm going to be making some positive changes to keep the happy....well...happy, if you will! I'm remembering that I am a strong tough chick and I'm not going to let life's little bumps get me down. I'm going to take a little more time for ME, because guess what - I deserve it! And ME TIME makes me HAPPY!

My Happy List -- Pretty in Pink!

It's Saturday, and I've decided it's time for a Happy List!

#1 ~ Ever since my Elayna could talk, she has admired pink hair. The pinker, the better. She has been asking me for the longest time when she could have pink hair. Last week when I was getting my hair done, this came up in conversation and my stylist was totally on board. She talked me into bringing Elayna in to get three pink foils. Today was the big day! Elayna was SO happy!

And when Elayna is happy, I am happy! I heart that kid.

#2 ~ The kids are at their dad's this week, and while I will miss them, the fact that my house will stay relatively clean for a whole week does make me happy!

#3 ~ This week we've been eating tomatoes from our garden! That makes me happy!

#4~ It has rained for most of the past two days here, and while I don't like driving or being out in the rain, my flowers & garden will be very happy!

#5~ I made it over the 500 follower mark, and I confess that does make me happy! Thanks, follower friends! xoxo

My Happy List

With the stressful stuff going on at Dysfunction Junction, I was really hoping for a weekend full of happy. And this weekend totally delivered!

1. After an insanely stressful day on Friday, I made it just in time to go to Girls' Night Out with the ladies from church. We had a great time; we had dinner and then saw Soul Surfer, which is a great movie; so much more than I expected! I enjoyed myself so much. I never do anything like that, I'm always at home with the kids, and I really needed it!

2. My teenage daughter Shelbie went out of town with her best friend, who is my best friend's daughter, this weekend. Shelbie's BFF is in Baton Competitions, and Shelbie went along with her. I am so glad her dad let her go; it's his weekend and since he only sees her every other weekend I wasn't sure if he'd want her to miss a whole weekend with him, understandably. She has been texting me all weekend and is having a blast! I love that these girls are so close; they remind me so much of me & my BFF! They are definitely their mothers' daughters.

3. This morning my Littles had a soccer game. Their team didn't win, but they played hard and I always enjoy their games, win or lose.

4. Afterwards, we went to my BFF's (same one mentioned above) son's birthday party. The Littles came with us. I got to hang out with my BFF and the kids played and had a great time.

5. It was a beautiful day and when we got home, we spent some time outside, doing some stuff in the yard and just soaking up the son. My two unhealthy addictions are Diet Dr Pepper and the sun! Ok, and chocolate. So that's three, but who's counting?

6. Yes, there's still more! Tonight John and I went to the burger place where my son works for dinner. We got there just before his break time, so he sat and had dinner with us! I love any extra time I can grab with my kids, especially the 18 year old.

7. One more - went to Winn Dixie for a few things; I had coupons and a sale list. I spent $30 and saved $20; not bad for a quick trip!

And now I'm sitting with the hubsicle, laughing at Parking Wars and just enjoying our night.
If only WEEKDAYS could be as wonderful as WEEKENDS!

My Happy List

Here's what's making me happy right now:

1. My kids are home from Spring Break. They spent the week with their dad (& Andrew spent it with his grandma, my MIL).

2. I am all unpacked & organized.

3. My rose garden.

4. My vegetable garden that I planted this weekend....let's hope the veggies actually grow, which will make me very happy!

5. My clothesline, AND my working dryer.

6. The rabbits, wild turkeys, and various other wildlife we have seen out here in the woods.

7. Hot showers at the end of an exhausting day.

8. Teenage daughters who cook dinner (it was just frozen pizza, but I didn't have to do a THING. And that's awesome.)

9. 10 year old daughters who wash dishes.

10. The kids' soccer team winning their first game last Saturday.

I Have a Happy List.

I've seen a few of these Happy Lists in my recent travels 'round the blogosphere, and I decided to compile one of my own.

I am so blessed to have many things in my life that make me happy. The happy helps balance the crappy. Ya know?

So here's a list of stuff that makes me Happy.

1. Wearing my husband's hoodie. It is huge and soft and super warm. It makes me feel cozy.

2. Diet Dr Pepper. Especially when it's on sale. 12 packs are 4 for $10 at a grocery store near me right now. 4 for $10!!!

3. Speaking of which...good deals make me happy. I got several this weekend while outlet shopping; two very nice pair of jeans for $6.87 each! HELLO! A quesadilla maker for $17....two t-shirts for .99 cents each....I LOVE Deals!!

4. The sweetness and kindness my girls are showing to Andrew right now. Without my saying a word, they know he needs to be treated gently and are going out of their way to be good to him. They make me proud.

5. Any songs by P!nk. I love her.

6. Baby pygmy goats. I want one. Or a dozen. Either way.

7. Apple pie apples from a chocolate shop in St. Augustine. They're Granny Smith apples, dipped in caramel, then covered in white chocolate, then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

OhEmGeeeeee. Also, bringing three one home to enjoy later.

8. The new blog design that is currently being made for me by Minx Designs. She has showed me several sneak peeks and I am absolutely loving it! I'm so excited.
