Sometimes, a picture really is worth a thousand words.

Taken in 2005.
John is on the left, I'm on the right.
My mother-in-law is in the middle.
Enough.Said.

Linking up with the lovely Angie & Amanda for WordFUL Wednesday!

Let Freedom Ring!

We had a fun 4th of July.
Our little town has a celebration that they call,

"The Largest Small-Town Fireworks Display in America"!

We spread our blanket out.....

......then walked around and visited with friends & family.

{The newlyweds' first Fourth of July as a married couple....awwww!!}

ALL of these fireworks pics were taken by Elayna.

Shelbie asked me if we were going to buy any SPRINKLERS this year??
She meant to say SPARKLERS.

So now sparklers have a new name at our house!

{Elayna playing with her "sprinkler"}

I have no words for the picture below.
Okay, a few: Teenage boys are insane.

{that's Tim's friend Anthony wearing the basketball on his head.}

I could NOT get a photo of my son with his eyes open.

So, I settled for a pic with closed eyes.

I also got to visit with my (former) niece and nephew...they are my ex-husband's brother's children, who I've known since their birth. They still call me their Aunt. My (former) nephew is a Marine and will be going to Afghanistan in October. It was great to see them & talk about old times! I love those kids.

~* I Hope You Had a Wonderful Independence Day! *~

Matanzas Bay - Wordless Wednesday

Today, I'm actually wordless. So I'm participating in Wordless Wednesday at 5 Minutes for Mom.
I don't even know what this thing is called. It's the thing that holds the chain that discourages visitors from getting too close and falling in the Matanzas Bay at St. Augustine, Florida.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Happy Wednesday!
BTW, I'm way behind on reading & commenting. It's not you, it's me, and all that stuff.

Wordless Wednesday ~ My Heart

This is my heart.
It's a locket that folds into a heart shape.
It's full of pictures of my kids when they were little.
My heart is full.

Wordless Wednesday ~ This Is My Life.

Best game ever

Seriously....as soon as I get one thing taken care of, another one pops up!
But, like the game, it's a whole lot of fun, so I'm not complaining.

Peaceful Easy Feeling

This weekend it was just me and the hubs camping. The kids were with their dad. And hubs got the whole weekend off!

Sunset on the Suwanee River

Photobucket

We rented a canoe and canoodled down this section of river. It was my first time canoeing and it was a blast!

Photobucket

This deer walked right up to our campsite. I was still sleeping and she was just behind the tent!

Photobucket

The sun had set and the moon was out, over the dock.

Photobucket

Look closely...that glowing dot is the eye of an alligator who was taking a leisurely evening swim in the river.

Photobucket

We also walked down this dock late one night and I swear, I'd never seen so many stars in my life. It was overwhelmingly beautiful, and I had an amazing spiritual experience just taking it in, with tears streaming down my face.
Then later I got the crap scared out of me by what might have been a bat, but I swear was a ghost. Freaked.Me.OUT.
While hiking, we looked down into a small sinkhole and saw 3 does and a fawn, relaxing in the shade.
We saw an big, beautiful owl in a tree one night, many jumping gulf sturgeon, and of course the alligator and deer. It was just so peaceful and quiet. We can't wait to do it again!

Wordless Wednesday: These Are My Confessions

It's almost Wordless Wednesday.
And I must confess.
I wear Crocs.

Photobucket

In my defense, I work in a hospital! It's practically the law.

And..........
I'm a sucker for an adorable face.
This is my Princess & a kitten named Harley.

Photobucket

My niece and I found this kitten wandering around next to a major highway this weekend. Harley is now safe and sound, with my niece, being spoiled and very well taken care of.

Happy Wednesday!
