Not Me! Monday - If NOT ME....Who?

Last week, we had 2 little foster kittens at the house.

Then I got an email from the head of the rescue group.

There was a mommy cat and 5 beautiful, still-nursing kittens at the shelter

who really deserved a shot at life.

Could I pick them up and foster them? NOT ME!

Would I add 6 more animals to the zoo? No way, NOT ME!



Would I give this sweet Mama a chance to live and raise her babies? NOT ME!

Would I give this wild man a chance to have a happy, cozy home? NOT ME!
(he's just meowing, I swear!)

Who would give these sweet babies a warm, safe home until they can be adopted and bring their love and joy to another family? NOT ME?
If not me...who?

There are nowhere near enough homes for them all.

There are also not enough foster homes for them all.
Do you have room in your home and your heart to foster even one kitten?

Do you have a tiny bit of extra time to save a life?

It doesn't take much. Most rescues pay for everything....food, litter, vetting, etc. All it costs is love and a very small amount of time, picking up the kittens and then taking care of them (feeding, watering, changing litter).

Summer is "kitten season". (the kitten in that pic looks just like one of our fosters!!)

I can promise you that your local shelter, Humane Society, ASPCA, or rescue group(s) would JUMP at your offer to foster kittens right now.

Not Me Monday!

* hubby and I did not make a late night taco bell run Saturday night. I mean, that's so not healthy...who does that?

* we did not take in a litter of 5 foster kittens this weekend, which brings our pet total up to...eh, who's counting? ;o)

* I did not wake up Sunday morning feeling like death warmed over, and spend the morning cursing the person who made me sick instead of going to church. Grr! NOT ME!!

Not Me Monday!

I'm jumping in for another round of Not Me Monday, courtesy of mckmama! If you aren't already visiting for her and praying for Stellan, please pop over there and read all about it.

~ I did not spend a good chunk of the weekend sleeping. Nooo, not me!

~ I am not having a hard time adjusting to 'normal' sleep times on the weekends lately. My body does NOT think daytime = sleep time and nighttime = work time. Ugh, not me!

~ I did NOT find out that my sister lost her job of 7.5 years this weekend! And it was NOT because she is quote "TOO NICE"! Oh and her employer did not ask her to train her
replacement. Oh.no.they.di'int. And I did NOT tell my sister that my response would have started with an "F" and ended with a "U". I mean, does that sound like ME?

~ I did not spend a nice quiet Easter with my family.

~ I did NOT welcome my girls home happily yesterday, even though the noise level at home rose by 500%! NOT ME!!

~ I am not sitting here finishing this post when I should be picking the kids up from school. No way dude, NOT ME!

Not Me Monday 3.23.2009 ~ Weekend WrapUp

I'm joining in the fun of Not Me Mondays again!

~ I did not forget to pack TOOTHPASTE for our camping trip this past weekend! Nooo, not me. Thankfully we were only gone one night, and I carry breath mints!

~ I did not take all four of my kids on a night hike. In the full dark. Not me! And they didn't end up LOVING it. Uh-uh, not them.

~ We did not see deer, fish, turtles, an opossum, an armadillo, a raccoon, and a beautiful owl. Not us!

~ And surely that raccoon and those deer did not raid our campsite while we slept. Surely that raccoon didn't steal our dogs' treats and attempt to steal their food. Not those sweet little wild animals!

~ We did not take our dogs camping for the first time. (well, 2 of the 4 dogs) And they did not thoroughly enjoy their little midget selves! Not them!

~ I did not give in and let my kids swim in that cold spring water. Not me!

~ I did not partake in my one vice - sunbathing. I didn't skip sunscreen altogether. Not me!

~ We did not see the most stars we'd ever seen in our lives. The older kids did not get to see shooting stars for the first time. I did not get to have a spiritual discussion with my oldest daughter about the beauty of nature and all things God created. NOT ME!

~We had a wonderful weekend & hope you all did too!~

Weekend Wrap Up & Not Me Monday

I'm wrapping up the weekend with a Not Me Monday, my first one in fact.

1. I did not stay awake all day Friday to spend time with John, after working 12 hours the night before. That would be crazy!





2. I did not fall in love with dozens of dogs while volunteering for the Pet Rescue at Petsmart on Saturday. Who would do that? Not me!

3. I did not go thrift shopping yet again! I mean, who thrift shops all the time?

4. I did not drink way too much sweet tea this weekend. That would not be a good idea at all!

5. I did not add another animal to our zoo this weekend. I do not have the word "SUCKER" tattooed on my forehead in large red block letters. I am not the one everyone at work comes to when they need to rehome a pet. NOT ME!

6. I did not marry a man four years younger than me. He turns 32 today!

Happy Birthday to the Love of my Life!

*I DID, however, fix my roots & brows this weekend! Whew, I feel better now.*
