Dont you worry your pretty little mind

Oh, Friday, I've been waiting for you for so long!
Well, at least a couple of days.
Anyway! Let's get this fragging started right now!

Mommy's Idea

Karaoke tonight? Yes, please! I have become good friends with the secretary at the kids' high school. She is awesome and she has been coming out to karaoke with me! And we're going again tonight, hopefully with some other friends as well. Can't wait to get my karaoke on!

But tomorrow is what I'm REALLY looking forward to - my niece's baby shower! She had a joint shower in November with her sister-in-law, but this one is all for Heather. The girls and I are super-excited!

I have admitted before that I watch Jersey Shore. Yeah, yeah, it's trash tv, it's what's wrong with America, blah blah. I'm hooked, don't judge me. Now let's discuss last night's season premier.
So, did you totally cry at the surprise party too? And what about at the end when Vinnie was all sad and homesick? I just wanted to give him a big hug. I probably would have caught an STD, granted, but still. Poor Vinnie.
Mike = biggest douche bag EVER.
Do you think Ronnie & Sammie will still be together at the end of this season? I'm thinking no.
Deena is kind of pathetic. JWoww's body amazes me but her face is looking to thin.
And Snooki, well she's just Snooki, what can you say?
I love me some Pauly D. What a lovable goofball.

We've had lows in the low 20's this past week. Here in FLORIDA. I've been trying not to complain about the weather but hellllloooo??? This ain't Alaska, people. Give me SUNSHINE!!!

I am LOVING this song right now. Love love LOVE.

That's all folks! Check out Mrs 4444 for more Fragments.

When I Wasn't Here....

*Tap, tap* Is this thing on?

It's been kind of quiet on the Blog of Dysfunction, but not at the Casa de Dysfunction.

I'll give you a brief rundown on what's been going on around here. Sort of like Shit I Did When I Wasn't Here, but nowhere near as cool. Because, hello? She's, ya know, The Bloggess. And I'm, ya know, not.

There have been Karaoke Nights, Double Baby Showers, Sixteenth Birthday Parties, Drag Shows, Epic Meltdowns, Bonfires, Concerts.
This is all in the past week.

Back in the woods where we live, there's a saying: It's not a party till the cops show up.
Last week we had a party.

There has been fighting and making up and breaking up. Strengthening relationships. Cutting ties.

My son Tim and I spent Thanksgiving at home, just the two of us. It was awesome. I cooked way too much food, and we enjoyed each others' company. It was a unique experience that will probably never happen again, and I enjoyed it.

And I am totally exhausted! I am on day 3 of 4 days off work, after working 9 days in a row. Getting a paycheck for a job that I LOVE is one of the best feelings EVER.

And I'm off to try to catch up with you.....and then I think it's time for a NAP!!

Random Weekend Musings

I put a poll up on my sidebar. I'm curious about your kids' bedtimes, particularly your preteens/tweens/whatever you want to call them. Bear in mind when voting that the kids in question have to get up at 6 a.m. and most experts recommend 9-11 hours of sleep for that age group.
This may or may not have been prompted by a meddling mother-in-law.

My son is moving home today. He has lived with his dad for several years now, but we live in the same town and he spent about 2/3 time there and 1/3 here (except for summer, when we do a 50/50 split).
But today, his father kicked him out.
I think in the long run, it will all work out for the best.
"And that's all I have to say about that."

This evening John and I decided to walk down the lane to see if there was any wildlife wandering around. We were greeted with the sight of several wild turkeys and five deer; two adults, one 'adolescent' (no idea if there's a proper term for that), and two babies (fawns). They froze when they saw us, and we stood there and watched them for a long time. After a while, they suddenly spooked, and the three largest deer ran in one direction but the babies ran towards us! But then they ducked into a trail in the woods.

We had a blast at karaoke last night. A blast. We even sang "Ice Ice Baby". Hilarious!

John picked some pears off of our pear tree, and they are currently in the oven, covered in butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. I can't wait till they're done! Yumm-O!

I hope you're having a fantastic weekend!
