What's That? Up in the Sky??

Mommy's Idea

My thoughts are fragmented. You have been warned. Proceed with caution.

~ I frequently crack myself up. Occasionally I amuse others, but always I amuse myself.
Example: the other day I was texting with a friend and said, "My favorite type of food is Mexicans." Then I saw what I'd said and laughed so hard I cried, and texted "OMG I do not eat MEXICANS! I meant MEXICAN!!!" Now I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm a cannibal. With a taste for the spicy people.

~ I was just told, by a beautiful Puerto Rican woman, that I do not look American. Is it weird that I was extremely flattered by that? I mean, I do have an enormous girl-crush on Sofia Vergara so it shouldn't be much of a surprise, I suppose. (I so love the way she says "Easssy Breesssy Beauteeful" in the Cover Girl ads!)

~ I was also told last week that I look like Selena Gomez.

I wish!!

~ The other night Elayna was talking to me and said "when we were in Third Grade, my friend Madison was dating this guy-" and I have no idea what she said next because I died laughing.
Seriously? Dating in third grade? Gotta love it.

~ My recent FB Status:

Cyndy DysfunctionalMom: Able to be late to any event, regardless of time. Able to trip over completely flat, uncluttered floors. Able to bump into things that do not exist. CERTAIN to get into crazy situations & predicaments....I am...DISASTER GIRL!! Now where did I put my cape?

I leave you with a great song & a wish for a happy weekend!

Fragments from my Easter Basket

As you can see if you've been reading all week, it's been a crazy one. It's going to be a busy weekend, but maybe - hopefully! - the craziness is over. For now.
So. Do you know what time it is? It's Half-Past Kissin' Time, of course! Also know as time for Friday Fragments!

The good news is, my kids will be with me for Easter! YAY! Except for Andrew who is going to spend the weekend with his grandmother, and Tim who has to work. OK, the girls will be with me for Easter! YAY!
We're going to an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday and having a cookout. Then on Sunday, we'll go to church, then go to my parents' house. It should be a fun, relaxing weekend.

Since April is Autism Awareness Month, I would love to do a post about autism. However, I don't have any in-depth knowledge or personal experience with autism. So, if you do, and would like to do a guest post here, please let me know, I would love to have you! (more than one poster is welcome!)

Also, today is Earth Day! Will you be pledging an Act of Green? I have already started a garden, and I am hoping to start a compost pile this weekend.

I got lots of sweet comments this week, and many with questions or comments that I would LOVE to reply to. But I can't, because they don't have their email enabled!

Please, even if you think your email is enabled, do a Dysfunctional Mom a favor and check. I will love you forever! Please, just click on Mamarazzi's super cute button below and follow the steps to check & fix this issue! Did I mention PLEASE?!

I had to bring back Facebook Faves this week. I posted this on FB last week, and it got a lot of laughs!

Cyndy N. E.:
John: Do you want to get up early with me and see the deer in the field by the house?
Me: I think I need more motivation than deer to get up early. Maybe if there were unicorns? And they all had chocolate for me?

And last but not least, here's a song for you! Enjoy.

Blame in on the Little Guy.....

Mommy's Idea

Y'all know what time it is: Friday Fragments time.
I just have a few tidbits for you this week.

One of my friends posted this on Facebook this week, and of course, I reposted it too:

FIVE DEADLY TERMS USED BY A WOMAN: (1) FINE-this is the word women use to end an argument when they know they are right and that you need to shut up. (2) NOTHING-this means SOMETHING and you should be wary. (3) GO AHEAD-This is a dare, not permission, DO NOT DO IT. (4) WHATEVER-is a woman's way of saying F*** YOU. (5) THAT'S OK-She is thinking long and hard on HOW and WHEN you will pay for your mistake....

My husband had to get his driver's license renewed last week. He had to take a vision test, and his vision is so bad in one eye that the examiner literally asked him if he was BLIND in that eye. (he's been putting off getting an eye exam for way too long.) My new nickname for him is "Mike Wazowski".

Searching for a home, especially on a time-line, is a unique and horrific form of torture.

I think I forgot to mention that last week, Elayna went back to the orthopedic doc to recheck her broken thumb. He said it's healing very well, and she was released and can go back to her normal activities. She is LOVING soccer!

I leave you with my Friday Song: I Will....But by SheDaisy, which is where I got the title to Wednesday's post, I Refuse to Be Last in Line, and I also referenced a line from the song in that post. It's a great song!

I need to jump on my broom and get outta here.

Mommy's Idea

This week has been a little bit busy, and a little bit CRAZY. I keep saying "I need a vacation!" which is kind of funny because I'm not technically working right now, at least not outside the home. But at least it's Friday, time for the weekend and time for Fragging!

By the way, I've had a few people ask me if I'm a gamer when I use the term 'fragging'. I have no idea what that even means, but in my world, Fragging is all about Friday Fragments at Half Past Kissin' Time. Check it out!

I finally added the code to take the border off of my graphics & page dividers. Mrs 4444 will be so proud of me!

You might remember I mentioned buying the tea cups & saucers for Elayna's birthday tea party. I got 8 cups, 8 saucers, and a creamer. I found them at Goodwill; the cups & creamer were .59 cents each and the saucers were .29 cents each. The pattern is really pretty and I decided to look them up on the internet.
They are selling for $5-$10 per piece! And I have 17 pieces. I think I scored a great deal! Now I need to go see if they have any more.

Some of you will be happy to know that, after I posted the Don't Hate Me Because.... post, the temperatures have dropped and it's been storming.
Guess it serves me right for bragging!

Are you following me on my blogging Facebook page? If not, um, why not? Anyway, I posted this there last week:

Cyndy DysfunctionalMom
My kids drive me crazy but I kept having more. My pets drive me crazy but I keep acquiring more. Thank GOD it's illegal to marry more than one man!!!

Next week will involve psych visits & lawyer visits re: Andrew & his egg donor situation. I am trying very hard not to stress about these things yet. I've promised myself that I will have a relaxing weekend, and not think about all of the stressors until Monday. Let's hope that works out for me. I think a quick weekend getaway is in order.

What are y'all doing for the Superbowl? We are going to our church's second annual Superbowl party. We watch the game on the big screen and have awesome food & just hang out. It's a lot of fun. I'm making a buffalo chicken dip that I read about on one of my favorite food blogs; I'll post all about it on my food blog later.
And who are you rooting for? My husband's late father was a HUGE Packers fan, so we're going to be Packer Backers on Sunday in his honor.

I heard this song for the first time this week, although apparently it's not new. It just appeals to me for some reason. Enjoy! And have a great weekend.

Fun Times

I'm going to jump right into fragging with Facebook Faves this Friday!

Fave #1.
Cyndy N. E******: So my kids are at their dads this week and Andrew is at his Grandma's. Could someone please come to my house and whine, argue, roll your eyes, slam doors, and make messes so I dont feel so totally out of sorts?? Thanks! =)

I got LOTS of offers from parents, to send their children over!
This is the end of my first child-free week of Summer 2010. It was very quiet! I got a lot accomplished. I devoured books like Cookie Monster eats cookies! I also finally broke out the jewelry making kit that I bought months ago, for the first time. I resized a bracelet that was too big, and made three pairs of earrings!
I made a total of four cobblers with the blackberries & blueberries growing in our yard. I took two to work, and gave one to Andrew when we met up for a doctor's appointment. Andrew with his own cobbler is like a crackhead with a crack cobbler. He was a happy camper!

Fave #2.
Cyndy N. E*****: I am so unbelievably angry and disgusted right now. Its one thing to stab me in the back but to involve MY child? Repulsive. Unforgivable.

(this was involving Andrew, my youngest son, and I WILL be elaborating about it, I promise. I need the therapy!)

Fave #3.
Cyndy N. E*****: I reeeally need to make it to church this Sunday. Fantasizing about voodoo dolls is not exactly a healthy or Christian-like activity. (poke, poke!)
(also relating to the situation with Andrew. My favorite comment on that status was from my daughter Elayna: Mommy what's a voodoo doll?)
Ahem.
Moving along!

We're going to see Toy Story 3 tonight. I absolutely cannot wait! Toy Story was my oldest son's absolute favorite movie growing up. I told him under NO circumstances was he to see this movie without me!
I
am the one who watched him jumping off the couch, pretending to be Buzz Lightyear, shouting "To infillity...AND BEHIND!"
I was the one who put him on the school bus, where he sat by a 5th grader and proceeded to say to him "What are you looking at, you hockey puck?"
I am the one who occasionally got called a "mean old potato"!
It is without a doubt the most quoted movie in our home. So we are very excited to see TS3.
Well....Tim and I are. And Elayna is pretty excited, too. Shelbie is Less Than Thrilled, because she is a 14 year old girl and is therefore required by law to be Less Than Thrilled about anything that does not involve her friends, her cell phone, shopping, or cute boys. Also, there's a state statute that requires her to say "Ughhh" and "OMG" while rolling her eyes and sighing while we do these activities about which she is Less Than Thrilled.
I'm not raising any criminals, so I'll have you know she follows these laws to.the.letter.
Anyway.

A fun time will be had by all! I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.

Friday WOOT WOOT!

Mommy's Idea

Another Friday has rolled around, and I am so happy to see it! I'm not working overtime tonight, so I actually get a 'real' weekend. WOOT WOOT!
I didn't Frag last Friday and I have a lot to frag about today, so put on your fragging glasses and get ready!

I got a huge response to my last post, Blogging DON'Ts: What NOT to do if you want people to actually read your blog! 46 comments at last count....not that I count comments or anything...heh heh. I want to thank all of my friends who commented on the original question, whom I linked to in the post....I literally could not have done that post without you all, because I wanted it to be based on the opinion of several bloggers, not just little old me! And most of the commenters were very appreciative of the advice. So, thank you all!
That post was a little labor-intensive, so I am behind on commenting on your blogs, as well as replying to my comments & emails, so please bear with me while I attempt to catch up! xoxo

I recently discovered this amazing blog, Gerber Days. I can't believe I'd never visited her before! Among lots of awesomeness, on her sidebar she has a link to the instructions for making all-natural, all-purpose cleaner. I was really excited to make some of my own, so last weekend, I did just that, and I LOVE this stuff! I love lavender so I used that essential oil for scent. It smells so amazing that I literally walk around LOOKING for things to clean with this cleaner! It's super-cheap and works great, and is very easy to make. And totally awesome!

A nurse just came up and asked me: "What's the number to the ED (Emergency Department)?" and I said.............

911!

Ha ha ha ha! I crack me up!

Tomorrow we're having a garage sale & car wash for the All*Star softball team! I think we'll have a good time with that. So come get your car washed!! Other than that, we plan on hanging by the pool during this long weekend, working on the yard & garden, and cooking out!

And now it's time for - - - -

I love Facebook. Yesterday I posted this:
Cyndy N*** E***: Im considering switching my kids' pediatrician. do you have a great one that you love? please tell me who you recommend.

Shortly thereafter, I had 10 comments, several highly recommending the same pediatrician/practice, and one of my high school friends works there! So, tomorrow I get to call and start the process of switching over! I seriously love Facebook!

I posted this the other day which got a lot of "Likes" and Comments:
Cyndy N*** E***: So we saw a dead deer on the side of the road and i told john "i hope you drive carefully when youre going home at night." his reply: "nope! i turn my headlights off, put on a blindfold, close my eyes, and steer with my feet."

Which will help you understand why I had posted THIS just the day before:
Cyndy N*** E***: Reason #523128 why I love John: he makes me laugh so hard my stomach hurts almost every day. =D

We have so much fun doing even the most mundane tasks like running errands & paying bills. We're like peas & carrots!

I posted a fun & yummy recipe over at Southern Loving this week! Check out Toad in the Hole.

If you have my button on your blog and I don't have yours, please let me know and I will be glad to add yours to my collection! Don't be shy; I love buttons!

Alright my friends, although I could probably frag some more, I think this post is quite long enough! I'll leave you to enjoy your Friday, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Don't foret to visit Half Past Kissin Time for more Friday Fragments!

Girls, Girls, Girls!

WooHoo, did that title catch your eye?
Well, it's not what you may have anticipated, but this weekend is all about girls in my world.

This week has utterly chewed me up and spit me out, but it's going to get better starting RIGHT NOW and I MEAN IT!
*ahem*
Anytantrum, I have a great weekend coming up and it's all starting today. I get to say a big old F YOU and good riddance to this week, starting with Friday Fragging!

Frag #1 ~ Girly Weekend: First, I'm going to lunch with 2 friends/former co-workers. Both of them used to work with me here on my unit at the hospital and have since moved on. So we're getting together for lunch to catch up!
I so rarely do girl stuff like this because I'm always running around for/with the kids or the hubs and I am really excited!
As soon as I leave there, I'm picking up Shelbie and we're going shopping for her 8th Grade Social. We already have the dress, but we're looking for shoes, jewelery, etc. It will be just the two of us, and we're going to have a blast! even though she's given me 77 new gray hairs this week alone.
Thennnn we are going to Elayna's softball awards ceremony, which I am also looking forward to!
Then on Sunday, I am hosting Mother's Day at my house. After a special Mother's Day church service, my whole family is coming over, and John's grandma may come as well (his mother is in England). We'll be celebrating Mother's Day and my birthday, which is May 11th (have you shopped yet?). We're having a cookout/pool party and I plan to do as little as possible! We usually celebrate at my parents' house but I always do the cooking. Not this year, Mama's taking the day off and Daddy is cooking!

Frag #2 ~ Facebook Faves!

This status update is from just last night:
Me: The kids are driving me batty. I smashed my toe under the door. The phone wont stop ringing. AND the boxer has explosive diarrhea. Can I run away now? PLEASE??

This one is a quote I found in Reader's Digest:
Me: How blessed are some people, whose lives have no fears, no dreads, to whom sleep is a blessing that comes nightly, and brings nothing but sweet dreams. -Bram Stoker

And this is my Best Friend, she cracks me up!
Danielle F***: 867-5309 is not my # hahahaha to the perv trying to pick me up in Wal-Greens! I think it's hilarious he was like where is 867 that local? yea yea I said that's local call me!!.... take some more them meds they got you on too!! hasnt everyone heard that old song ITS JENNYS # DUH! should of told him my name was Jenny too...

Frag # 3 ~ I have to share with you my early birthday present. I planned on ordering this myself months ago, but never got around to it, so my Mom ordered it for me for my birthday. It's a message for my kids, and is hanging on the hallway that leads to all of the kids' rooms.

I love it! I already had another quote hanging in that hallway; I guess it's going to become my "quotes for my kids" area!

Okay. I think I'm done. This week had it's way with me but now I have Fragged and now I am in control! Don't forget to visit Mrs 4444s for more Friday Fragments.

Mommy's Idea

TGIF & I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

TGIFragments

Back to normal....I'm extremely glad it's Friday!
Coming back to work after an awesome vacation is a bummer. *sigh*
But it's all good, because it's Friday and time to Frag!

Mommy's Idea

~ This weekend will be busy with softball and unpacking, but we're still going to squeeze in some time for swimming in the pool! We can't wait. The kids are inviting friends over and I imagine my house will end up full of kids!

~ Yesterday my husband rearranged some of the kitchen cabinets in the new house.
I'm pretty sure he's lost his mind.
He has apparently forgotten that he's married to a LUNATIC who cannot stand for her stuff to be rearranged! I can't believe that after 5 years of marriage, he would think he could rearrange the cabinets and live not make me totally insane! They have now been rearranged back to the way I had them, of course, thankyouverymuch.

Now for a couple of Facebook Faves!

Posted on Monday during the Big Move:

Cyndy N*** E***: Moving buddy: Don't have one? GET ONE!

{If you can tell me what movie this is from, you will win.......my undying devotion! WooHoo!}

My friend Sue's latest status:
Sue M***: Don't pity the person with one true friend... envy them.

And how cute is my son's status?:
Tim G***: girl....check. ticket....check. tux....check. ur boy's ready for prom!

~ I installed a fun little widget over there <~~. It's a Top Commenters widget and it lists (and links) the people who comment on my blog the most! Wouldn't you like to see your name up there? It's a win/win, you feed my comment addiction, you see your name up in lights! Sweet, no?

~ Check this out - I have a Carbon Neutral Blog. Just for posting this, a tree will be planted for my blog! Click the button to join in and have another tree planted in honor of YOUR blog.

~ Subway's white chocolate macadamia cookies are calling my name. Fortunately, there is a Subway here in the hospital where I work. And it's open 24/7.
So um, on that note, I'm ending this post!

Have a great weekend, and visit Half Past Kissin Time for more Friday Fragments!
