Mother's Day

I received this via text message and wanted to share it with you all.

I traded eyeliner for dark circles,
salon hair for ponytails and braids,
long showers for hairy legs,
late nights for early mornings,
designer purses for diaper bags,
and wouldn't change a thing!!
Moms don't care what we gave up and will continue to give up for our kids til the end of time! :)

Happy (Early) Mothers Day!

Girls, Girls, Girls!

WooHoo, did that title catch your eye?
Well, it's not what you may have anticipated, but this weekend is all about girls in my world.

This week has utterly chewed me up and spit me out, but it's going to get better starting RIGHT NOW and I MEAN IT!
*ahem*
Anytantrum, I have a great weekend coming up and it's all starting today. I get to say a big old F YOU and good riddance to this week, starting with Friday Fragging!

Frag #1 ~ Girly Weekend: First, I'm going to lunch with 2 friends/former co-workers. Both of them used to work with me here on my unit at the hospital and have since moved on. So we're getting together for lunch to catch up!
I so rarely do girl stuff like this because I'm always running around for/with the kids or the hubs and I am really excited!
As soon as I leave there, I'm picking up Shelbie and we're going shopping for her 8th Grade Social. We already have the dress, but we're looking for shoes, jewelery, etc. It will be just the two of us, and we're going to have a blast! even though she's given me 77 new gray hairs this week alone.
Thennnn we are going to Elayna's softball awards ceremony, which I am also looking forward to!
Then on Sunday, I am hosting Mother's Day at my house. After a special Mother's Day church service, my whole family is coming over, and John's grandma may come as well (his mother is in England). We'll be celebrating Mother's Day and my birthday, which is May 11th (have you shopped yet?). We're having a cookout/pool party and I plan to do as little as possible! We usually celebrate at my parents' house but I always do the cooking. Not this year, Mama's taking the day off and Daddy is cooking!

Frag #2 ~ Facebook Faves!

This status update is from just last night:
Me: The kids are driving me batty. I smashed my toe under the door. The phone wont stop ringing. AND the boxer has explosive diarrhea. Can I run away now? PLEASE??

This one is a quote I found in Reader's Digest:
Me: How blessed are some people, whose lives have no fears, no dreads, to whom sleep is a blessing that comes nightly, and brings nothing but sweet dreams. -Bram Stoker

And this is my Best Friend, she cracks me up!
Danielle F***: 867-5309 is not my # hahahaha to the perv trying to pick me up in Wal-Greens! I think it's hilarious he was like where is 867 that local? yea yea I said that's local call me!!.... take some more them meds they got you on too!! hasnt everyone heard that old song ITS JENNYS # DUH! should of told him my name was Jenny too...

Frag # 3 ~ I have to share with you my early birthday present. I planned on ordering this myself months ago, but never got around to it, so my Mom ordered it for me for my birthday. It's a message for my kids, and is hanging on the hallway that leads to all of the kids' rooms.

I love it! I already had another quote hanging in that hallway; I guess it's going to become my "quotes for my kids" area!

Okay. I think I'm done. This week had it's way with me but now I have Fragged and now I am in control! Don't forget to visit Mrs 4444s for more Friday Fragments.

Mommy's Idea

TGIF & I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Wrapping Up the Weekend

This weekend was great, and it went by way too quickly.
Friday was spent just relaxing.
Saturday we went to Elayna's softball game. Unfortunately it was her team's first loss of the season, and it was their last game. They took it well though. While I was lamenting the end of the season, Elayna's coach called me to the side to tell me that Elayna had been nominated for All-Stars! I'm so excited and I think it will be a great experience for her. After the game, Elayna went to the Springs with the team, along with her dad & his family. We all went home and spent the rest of the day in the pool! And Saturday night we finally finished organizing our bedroom and got all of my stuff hung up in the new house. It's so nice to finally feel settled!
On Sunday, we went to church and the youth did a very sweet tribute to their leaders. They are truly great people and do amazing work with our youth. I seriously need to stop wearing makeup to church, I seem to end up crying entirely too often!
Then we spent the afternoon in the pool, except for when I got out to wash all of the dogs and do laundry and other such fun activities.
Now it's already Monday morning and I'm back at work! The weekend flew by, but it was a good one; productive yet relaxing.
I'm ready for next weekend!
I hope you had a great one too, and if you blogged about it, link up here!
