Time After Time

It's Wednesday, and time for another installment of WWTK!
This week they want to know what we do with our time.

1. If you had an extra hour to do ANYTHING for yourself each day, what would you do?

Most definitely, an hour phone call with my BFF. We rarely get to talk on the phone, although we text daily, but a solid, uninterrupted hour of conversation with her? Priceless.

2. Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I am a total night owl. I always have been. And it's funny that this question is asked today, because for the first time in over five years, I will be going to work at 7am. I worked nights for over 4 years at the hospital, and for the past year have worked nights and/or late mornings. I am slightly freaking out about having to get up at the butt crack of dawn in the morning!
*ETA* I didn't sleep last night. Like, at all. This should be interesting!

3. How much sleep do you get on an average night?

This is hard to answer because, as I stated above, I'm a night owl and I sleep weird hours. But my best guess is 6-8 hours per night/day. I LOVE sleep. I just don't like doing it at night. Which is going to be tricky now. lol

4. When do you find time to blog/surf the ol' interweb?

Rarely, these days! I usually get time online after the kids go to bed. It's nice and quiet and peaceful!

5. What is the ONE thing you're never too busy for?

I'm never too busy for Facebook. One, because I can check in quickly. Also because I can do that on the run; my phone is not a Smart Phone, but it can access Facebook. So I am on there a lot throughout the day.

Y'all already know that I LOVE to cook. So I was happy to see that today's "We Want to Know Wednesday"'s theme was FOOD! (Even though I'm late...as always!)

1} What is one thing (food or drink) that you MUST have everyday?

Diet Dr Pepper. It's my crack!

{2} What is your "go to" food when you don't feel well/need comfort?
I love salty comfort foods, like chips & dip. Or pizza. Or chocolate.

{3} Is there a dish that you make that people request when they visit your home/a family favorite?
Chicken & dumplings is number one. My potato salad is also in high demand, as well as my lasagna.

{4} What are 3 foods you have TRIED, do not like and will NEVER eat again?
brussels sprouts, parsnips, & venison.

and our final question comes from Dee@ HomesickCajun:

{5} What's one thing that you love to eat that most people would think is weird and/or gross??
I like to eat sour dill pickles with peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. I don't really eat weird stuff, just some weird combinations.

WWTK - This is deep stuff!

I'm joining in with Mamarazzi & Queso again this Wednesday for We Want to Know!

1. What is the best advice someone has ever given you?
To accept the things I cannot change. It's allowed me to let go and stop stressing about things that were extremely frustrating to me. Sometimes you just have to step back and accept that you've done all that you can do.

2. What is your greatest accomplishment?
Raising my kids. Through all the craziness and fun dysFUNction, they are turning out to be pretty awesome people.

3. Who do you admire?
My best friend, Danielle. She has been through so much in her life, but she never plays the victim role. She's a wonderful mother, and has a huge heart and loves very deeply, even those who have hurt her in the past. She's forgiving and doesn't hold a grudge.

4. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I would have more patience. I am a very impatient person, and it causes me a lot of frustration.
Also, no gray hair! ;-)

5. How do you want to be remembered?
As someone who helps those in need, without expectation of reward. I don't just mean the hungry or homeless; for example, the other day some people I had just met locked their keys in their car. So I used our AAA service to get a locksmith out there for them. They were so happy! I think helping our 'neighbors' and taking care of one another is what life is all about. And that includes animals as well.

They Want to Know.....

Photobucket

I decided to join in with Mamarazzi & Queso this Wednesday and answer some fun questions! Check it out.

{1} Did you live in the same town or move around a lot as a child?
I not only lived in the same town but the same house until I turned 18, and my parents still live there.

{2} What were your parents like?
That's a loaded question. Strict....very black & white, no shades of gray. "My way or the highway" types.

{3} Do you have any siblings? What were they like growing up?
I have a brother who is 1o years older than me and a sister who is 7 years older. They were practically angels, and did not break the parents in for me AT ALL! I still tease them about that to this day.

{4} Share a short story from your childhood.
When I was little, I had imaginary friends. One main friend, and she had a sister and a brother, but the brother died (I guess I was kind of morbid). My family loves to tell the story of a time when my sister had friends over, and they decided to walk down to the lake. Our mom forced my sister to let me tag along, and to hold my hand. To make it even worse, I insisted that my sister leave a space between herself and me....for my imaginary friend.
Bonus-my brother loved to torture me and he would step on my imaginary friends' imaginary house. I think I need therapy.....

{5} What did you look like? (share a childhood pic for a chance to win a prize)
Um, CUTE, of course!

This was taken in my backyard. I'm on the left, and that's my mom's best friend's daughter on the right.
