Simple Things

Soul Aperture, an absolutely beautiful blog, is donating $1 to Doctors Without Borders' Haiti Relief efforts, for each person who participates and links in on her Simple Things post.
What a fantastic idea!
Here is my list of Simple Things that I appreciate.

~~ Shelters over walkways and outdoor waiting areas, so that when it rains, I don't have to get soaked.
~~Shuttle services, for the same reason, and the nice warm shuttle buses.
~~Health insurance....very good health insurance.
~~My job in the medical field. The field that I love.
~~Playing board games with my kids.
~~Back massages.
~~Best friends who are loyal, no matter what.
~~Tylenol PM/Simply Sleep.
~~Simply hanging out with my family, watching movies and relaxing.
~~Russell Stover Marshmallow & Caramel Chocolates. Yummm.

Simple Pleasures

On Friday night, I found myself at home alone with Elayna.

John & Tim were working, Shelbie was at the high school football game, and Andrew was with his Nana (John's mom).

So clearly, there were nails to be painted, hair to be braided, and cookies to be baked!

And that is what we did.

(Please ignore the mess in the background - we did! Girly time was more important.)

(1) ice (2) decorate (3) EAT!!!

My toes are now a fabulous shade of PEACH.

Good times! What Simple Pleasures did you enjoy this weekend?

Simple Pleasures Sunday

The Big Things are great. Weddings, vacations, holidays.

But the simple, day to day pleasures can be absolutely wonderful.

My Simple Pleasures....

...... a flower, picked by one of my children, and proudly presented to me.
...... candles burning and filling my home with their lovely aroma.

...... sleeping while it's raining outside. Or even better - storming.

...... one of my cats purring on my lap.
...... my sweet old dog Suzie sleeping curled beside me.
...... a hot, hot shower.

...... tending to my flowers and watching them grow.

...... sitting outside in the evening with John and the kids, sipping sweet tea, and waving at the neighbors as they pass by.

What are your Simple Pleasures?
