Random Acts of Kindness

It's time again for Random Acts of Kindness!
This is just a little something I do....
My mother renews my subscription to Reader's Digest every year for Christmas. Also, she gets Guideposts magazine herself, and passes them along to me after she reads them.
So, after I read the magazines, I bring them to work and put them in the Family Waiting Room here at the ICU.
It's a very small way to hopefully distract them from whatever is going on with their loved one, and maybe even give them a little hope or inspiration.

So tell me - what's going on with you? What's your latest Random Act of Kindness?

Monday, Monday

I'm going to have to wait to WrapUp my Weekend tomorrow, because I have bunches of pics to upload. It was a great weekend, with parties, parades, movies, and other exciting stuff. Which may or may not include celebrities.
Stay tuned!

So instead, today, I'm going to throw out a quick question/suggestion.
Do you and/or your family help others during the holiday? For example, choosing a child from an "Angel Tree" or something along those lines?
This is something that my family has done for several years and I feel very strongly about it. I feel that it teaches my children an important lesson about what Christmas AND Christianity are truly all about.
One year, one of the children we chose only asked for a blanket. That was all. That really got to all of us.
Usually, we choose a child from the Salvation Army tree. But this year, our church has a tree, and we chose two children from that tree.
I know that times are hard this year, but that makes it even more important to give what we can. It's not too late!

So....tell me what you do, or what you will be doing, this Christmas Season! =)

Friday Fragments!

Mommy's Idea

Fancy, fancy! I missed Fragging last week and Mrs4444 went and got a new button in my absence. Pretty, isn't it?
I'm ready to make up for lost time, so I will commence fragging quickly, before I go into Fragdrawals!

~ Yesterday Andrew received a letter from Santa. It was a beautiful computer generated letter on Christmas stationary, personalized with his name, gifts he'd asked for, etc. And now I have to explain to Elayna why she didn't get one. Thank you, thoughtless MIL, for forgetting that your grandson is not the only child on earth, nor in my household!

~ I won two cool bloggy contests in the past couple of weeks. I'm getting a Night at the Museum 2 DVD from her and a beautiful jewelery set from her! How lucky am I?!

~ Tonight is the night of my almost-14 year old's sleepover party. Your prayers will be appreciated! Seriously, it will be fun but they are not the quiet, bookish kind of kids. No, my child and her friends are LOUD and CRAZY!! Note to self: Find earplugs!

~ My youngest, Elayna, has loved Elvis for as long as I can remember. It's all my father's doing. Anyway, I got a brilliant idea for the theme of her 9th birthday party next month: 50's Rock & Roll Sock Hop! I've been searching online for ideas and OMG, this is going to be a fantastic party!

~ I'm having a blast playing my Alvin & the Chipmunks Christmas Pandora station here at work. I get interesting reactions from my co-workers when they come up to my desk and hear "meee I want a huuula hooop!" playing from my computer. Muah ha ha!

Aaand I believe I am out of fragments. For more, visit Half Past Kissin' Time!

Have a Fantastic Friday and a Wonderful Weekend!
