The Stupid Thing I Did Today, Part II

I told you there would be a part II to this! And believe me, it's only taken this long because (a) this is the first blog-worthy Stupid Thing I've Done since part I, and (b) it's the first thing I've remembered to blog about. Because honestly, Stupid Things are pretty much a daily occurence in my life.

But this one was remarkable.

We took the kids to the library on Monday. We checked out books, checked out a couple of DVDs...the usual library stuff. When we were walking out, a bookcover happened to catch my eye. So, I was reading the cover as I was walking out the door and CRASH! I slammed right into the security machine that beeps if you try to walk out with a library book.

You know, like this?

HUGE and impossible to miss?
Yeah, not for me. I'm special like that.

I even have a huge, purple goose-egg on my forehead to prove it.

Now it's your turn. Tell the truth....got stupid?

oh..I do "stupid" on a regular basis. This happened awhile ago, but a good friend (who was very p.g at the time) admitted to me she was very self-conscious about her big boobs. A short while later I ran into an aquaintance and introduced her as my "breast friend"(not on purpose, mind you)...nice.. She's still pissed at me for that one.

I do "Stupid" on a daily basis with bruises all over my body to prove it.

My latest is having a life-size cutout made so I can go to BlogHer. Probably will cost me almost as much as if I actually went. Will probably have more fun virtually than in real life!

Sorry, but I had to laugh...I've done a similar thing before, so you are not alone! Hope your goose egg heals soon!

Thanks for sharing. I am not the one who crashes into thing as often as my husband does but I always laugh so hard when he does. On our first date I lead him into a huge wood support beam and barely could get the words out are you okay through the laughter. After 13 years of marriage he knows I will laugh first then ask how he is.

I am not alone!
I am not alone!
I love that I found another clutz!
On the last week of school, I opened the car door on my head. Crash. Major. Giant goose egg, Concussion, head injury monitoring for 24 hours. Oh yea, it was great. "How'd you get that big bruise on your head..." I had to make up a better story than "I sneezed at the same time I opened my car door..."

HA! So I'm NOT the only stupid person out there who also blogs and um has trouble WALKING! Worst stupid thing I've ever done? Burnt my naked butt on a wood burning stove... 2nd degree burns.. long story.

Last stupid thing I did... left my cell phone in the freezer (yesterday) WHY do people call on my cell WHEN I'M AT HOME?! I was talking and making frozen chicken nuggets (yes I'm a gormet mom) and some how it ended up in the ice tray. Would never have known either unless THAT SAME PERSON (the one I JUST told to call on my house phone) called back 20 minutes later.. ON MY CELL.

Stupid people abound.

Oh yes, a big stupid on my part!

We were leaving best friend's house after spending the weekend there and she was standing on her screened in porch. I had just walked out the sliding screen door when I realized I forgot something and since she was standing at the door, I assumed(first mistake) that the screen was open and I tried to walk through her screen door, loosening the screen from the frame. I just wanted to die on the spot. I told her husband he could just kill me now. They have to contact the company and get it replaced. I offered to pay for it and they said it already had something wrong with it anyway...

LOL. I have a problem with door jambs. I'm always running into them. In fact, I ran into so many this past year that I messed up my side and pulled the muscle. Also, I find bruises that I don't remember what I did to get them.

Ouch....

Stupid recent thing...sent the kids downstairs to play while Mommy and Daddy "took a nap," :wink wink: and forgot that the baby monitor was in our room...the other? Downstairs. Doh!

Stupid thing from the past that is similar to your story... in highschool we were playing indoor soccer for gym when I ran into the brick wall at full speed - couldn't stop my feet. Gave myself a serious concussion with it too. Never lived that one down.

Awwww, ouch.

I wouldn't have laughed if I was with you...to me, that's totally normal behavior.

Then again, I REACH into the OVEN on a daily basis to get things out WITHOUT OVEN MITTS OR ANYTHING!!!! It's not even like it's once in a moment of harried absentmindedness...it happens OFTEN.

Dude.

Have a good weekend. :D
