Today was a perfectly.....icky day for a nature walk around our home.
It rained most of the weekend.
But some days, I feel like I have spent too much time cooped up indoors.
Too much time breathing hospital air, then closed up in the bedroom sleeping.
I literally crave the fresh air and feel as if I must go out and soak it in.
Wellies are a must. These are not REAL Wellies, of course. What would you call them? "Alrighties"? "Good Enough-ies"? Anyway.... |
Mud, mud, everywhere. |
Also everywhere are blackberry bushes! I can't WAIT till they produce yummy berries. |
I mean seriously, EVERYWHERE. Bumper crop. I can almost smell the cobblers already. |
The moon was peeking over the trees. |
She cranks, she cranks, she cranks my Tractor |
Rusty |
And now, a few shots of the various wildlife that appears right outside of our back door.
Most of these were taken with Byron's motion-sensor camera.
Male wild turkey |
deer and female wild turkey |
very alert deer |
Hope you had a great weekend!

I tried to watch Tiger golfing in Orlando at the Arnold Palmer Open but it got "hurricaneed" out today.
I love the pix! And the blackberry bushes look yummy! :)
I was perfectly happy to stay curled up on the couch under a blanket, in front of the fire, in my yoga pants, watching NCAA basketball ALL DAY LONG.. well, after church that is!
But I do have a cute pair of polka-dot "good enoughies" should the mood strike!
Our house has mud everywhere too. I'm so ready for warm weather and sunshine to dry up all this icky mud.
We have a big blackberry patch in our woods, just behind the fence but I'm beginning to wonder if they'll ever actually produce blackberries this year since we are STILL experiencing freezing temps. and highs in the 40's and low 50's. Yuck!
Love the photos. Looks like a nice walk. Love the boots and blackberries are my favorite!
I love those deer cam pics! Although I told my husband that it was stalking the poor deer!
You had me at blackberries, but then I fell in love with the deer. Love those beautiful creatures.
That is a lot of mud! I like the pretty boots though!!
Those boots are way too pretty to be strolling out in the mud :)
I'm digging the galoshes! I'm also loving all these wonderful pix of your beautiful woods.
what wildlife!! how fun! we have deer and small game and turkey vultures but we never saw a turkey...and we have the mud too...and the boys bring it all in the house!!!!
I am your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.
happy spring!
Loved the moon over the trees and the deer. Great pics. Dropping by from Sundays in my city - I had the countryside too!
Those pictures remind me of my younger days when I'd pick blackberries from the bushes with my mom. We'd do it for hours. It's been forever since I've done it but I have fond memories of those times.
I would call them cuties because they look awful cute on your feet.
