But I didn't get to upload them yet....because we are at the ER.
Elayna decided she wanted to play soccer this season, so we signed both her and Andrew up. Then we went to the park to practice, and while playing goalie, she got hit in her thumb with the ball.
That was yesterday. Today her thumb looks like this:
I hope it's not broken, but it's showing signs.
*UPDATE* It's broken. Definitely at the base of the thumb at possibly at the growth plate also. They splinted it, and I'll be calling an orthopedist tomorrow to make an appointment.
I can't believe we had a soccer injury before the first practice! Leave it to the Dysfunctional Family!
And of course, I had to take a pic of her with her splint, loopy on Tylenol w/ codeine. She asked me why and I said, "Duh, I'm a blogger, that's what we do."

Eeek! I hope she's ok!
Owie, Elayna's thumb looks so sore! :(
OUCH!!!
hoping all is well!
Oh crap! That looks like a totally broken thumb to me. That totally sucks. Been there, done that. Blake went through a series of broken bones for a couple of years. If it is broken, look online for something called Dri-Cast or Dry-Cast, I'm not sure which. It's the bomb for showering with a cast. Much better than plastic bags!
owwwwwww
Oh no! Hope Elayna has an easy and quick recovery.
Poor sweetie! Hope she mends soon!
Bless her heart...her thumb is really swollen! It's amazing how something like that can happen so quickly! Hope her thumb gets healed SOON!
poor girl :( she looks awfully cute tho ;0)
her first soccer injury - good for her! we all need one!
steve broke his finger when one of the little girls on his team kicked the ball at him - from behind - and it bounced up and caught him in the pinky. it's still crooked - lol - and I remind him it could have been much worse ;)
Ouch!
I hope it heals well!
Oh, no!
Hope it heals fast and she feels better. Will she be able to still play?
what a bummer!! Looks like everybody's handling it with good humor :) Here's to a quick recovery!
Oh that is so sad. It sure looks like it hurts. My husband did that in HS football and never got to play the whole season. (broken leg)
Ouch! I'm late reading this, hope she is healing & feeling better!
Love that you took the pick & told her it was because that is what bloggers do LOL : )
