I got this in the mail yesterday from the AARP.
(that's the American Association for Retired Persons, for you young whippersnappers).
High school student? AARP Member?
Identity crisis much??

AARP suggests I start making the most of life over 50.
They're about 13 years early.....
However, on the same day, I had to check my teenage daughter out of school for an orthodontist appointment. While sitting in the office of the High School waiting for Shelbie to arrive, I was checking Facebook from my phone. The Dean came through and gave me a dirty look. I couldn't figure out why until I heard the lady behind the desk explaining to her that I was a parent.
She thought I was a student, boldly using my cell phone in the office!

HAHAHA... that is soo FUNNY!! Its like the universe insulted than complimented you just to make sure your ego was leveled out or something... What a trippy day!
too funny! Those are two HUGE differences in one day - AARP and student!
I think I'd be more irritated at them thinking I was still a student.
Sounds like you had a good day at least. ;)
I would keep the AARP card and use it to get the Senior Discount and all of my favorite department stores! ;)
Love the principal.
My hubs kept getting the AARP things in the mail too...when he was like 30!
Oh wow! I would totally send the principal some flowers :)
That's hilarious, I would have looked at the principal and said WHAT? haha
Love the principal story.. see you really do look freakin fabulous! :)
Clearly those AARP people couldn't see your hot tourist mom face or they woulda bit their old tongues!
Although I doubt the "dirty look" method of discipline actually phases any real teenagers, he sounds like a top notch principal to me! I agree, you should send flowers!
I would definitely go with the principal's thoughts!
I get emails from AARP and the Scooter Store all the time. I hate it!
I like the Principal :) You are definitely not AARP material :)
This just cracked me up...and, boy, I can so relate! :)
LOL I would go with the principal ;) I get those AARP things all the time and I am no where near 50.
AARP is just crazy. They use to send me so many things. Now I'm older and I seldom hear from them!
What a great compliment you got at school. You rock!
Your post made my day... thank you for the good laugh!
Hi there! :) I was just stopping by to let you know I gave you a bloggy award - stop by my blog and pick it up! :) I got an AARP invitation earlier this year - and I'm twenty-four! :P Ain't it fun? :P
Oooh that had to feel good! Being mistaken for a student would be a dream :)
I'm not exactly sure what to make of it when people ask if my mom is my sister... but it does make me feel old, hee hee!
Nice to "meet" you, youngster :)
