WordFUL Wednesday - Mother/Daughter Love

Christmas 2008

My 14 year old daughter, Shelbie, bought a Christmas card for me this year.
Yes, you read that right. My teenage daughter...on her own...with her money...on purpose...bought a Christmas Card for me, her mother.
Not only that, but it was one of the sweetest, most touching cards I've ever received - and I'm so proud of it that I had to share it.

A Christmas Letter for My Mother
You'll never know how much it means to be your daughter,
to share my thoughts and feelings with you,
the person who probably knows me better than anyone...
You have a special way of understanding me,
and you always seem to know exactly what I need -
tough-love advice, a stress-relieving laugh, a sympathetic hug...
And even though I don't tell you often enough,
want you to know you mean the world to me,
and I can't imagine my life without your love in it.
Merry Christmas

Did you get anything especially touching this year?

Awww, That was beautiful. I bet that was the best gift.

I was happy to just spend it with my family. I got lots of homemade goodies...from granola to Tea.

I love the card you got. I hope I get one some day. For now I'll settle for Chloe saying "I love you mommy" without prompting from me. Happy Wednesday!

how sweet I love to do this sort of thing with my daughters this year I gave her a necklace with dorothy from wizard of oz charm on it and wrote her a verse that as she goes into the world to always remember the yellow brick road will bring her back home
