I can't imagine how a "Mother" breezes in and out of that child's life for years afterward.
I can't imagine how a "Mother" forgets to pick her child up from day care for a scheduled visitation. Or just has better things to do.

I can't imagine how this "Mother" lets him go back to his father again without blinking an eye.
I can't imagine how this "Mother" goes months without seeing her son and only calling once or twice.
So, I don't know why it even surprises me, when this same "Mother" lets her son's 10th birthday pass by without so much as a phone call.
There must be something very flawed within a person that allows them to turn away from their own child.
Did she forget that it was her son's birthday? Or did she just not bother? Either way, it's unfathomable to me. Especially after losing one child....how in the world do you turn your back on another?

You putting quotes around mother is giving this lady too much credit. All because you birth a baby doesn't make you a mother. YOU are mom... but you already know that. It hurts my heart to think how this might be affecting your sweet son Andrew.

Oh I'm so sorry, how said for him to have a woman like that fill the biological role of 'mother'. That is just too sad and so wrong. :(

Clearly the woman is seriously ill. She must be. I just can't imagine either.
I'm so sorry. How horrible.
I know a female person who has given birth to two little boys, who is by no means a 'Mother'. On the other hand, I look at the situation in which she grew up, with her father in prison and her mother a psychotic bitch, and I can understand how she never learned to parent. Still, she does seem to lack some instincts that I always thought women had. That said, she IS sexually confused and has swung from hetero to lesbian and back to hetero and now? Now I would guess she's somewhere in between.
It's easy to be on the outside looking in and criticize - Lord only knows I've been guilty of that. But I also understand that sometimes these things require a deeper look.
She is only an egg donor, not a mother.

I just cannot imagine either. It is incredibly sad all around, and it's hard to not feel angry. Someone in our family is very similar, and it is just BEYOND me.

Poor Andrew :( That is absolutely, horribly sad. I know from my dad never calling that it is the worst feeling ever.

I once read of a woman who killed her baby because she shot up some drugs and passed out on top of him. He suffocated on the floor of a public toilet with his so-called 'Mother' on top of him. This was about 10 years ago and nothing that 'Mothers' do has surprised me since. Love him twice as much :)
