I just read your comment on the Queen's blog about your son's thumb sucking and had to offer a word of comfort.
My now 31 year old son sucked his thumb. I was happy because unlike a pacifier, he never lost it. One day after a kindergarten class, I asked him if he thought it was strange that he sucked his thumb and others didn't (thinking this would embarrass him into quitting) to which my baby replied.....no, mama, but I do wonder why they don't!
One day when he was in the first grade, I suddenly noticed he was no longer sucking his thumb.
I think if you don't make a big deal of it, they just quit on their own! Oh, then there is my older brother who sucked his until he was 18.
