Right Where I Need to Be

I fed a sweet old man lunch and dinner today.

He's not able to feed himself. So I fed him.
When I left my home care job, I was so afraid that I was leaving my calling.
The work that I feel led to do.  The work for which I feel passion.
As I rushed around from room to room today, taking care of the needs of a dozen patients, I didn't feel that way.
I scurried back and forth, trying to make sure each patient was being taken care of, answering call lights, taking vitals, among what seemed like a million other things, and hoping I was doing well on my second day at this job.
When we finally had a moment to breathe, the senior tech who is training me said, "I want to tell you something.  We have had a TOUGH group [of patients] today.  This has been a very busy and hard day.  And you have done an excellent job.  These patients have received far better care than they would have if you were not with me today.  And if you can handle this group on this day - you can handle anything."

I fed a sweet old man lunch and dinner today.

Those are the sweetest moments! A total blessing not only to be able to recognize them and experience them but to have confirmation that your decision was the right one. Super awesome to read this morning.

. Very rarely do people recognize that others need encouragement!

Beautiful. You did a fantastic job. Nursing is so hard and is often a very thankless job at that.

That's awesome. And so awesome that your supervisor took you aside to recognize you. That is definitely a person I would like to work for.

Glad I was able to help you track that IP address today. Or should I say late last night? Where does 1 AM qualify? Online harassment/bullying is now a felony in most states and a federal charge in some cases. Let me know if you need anymore help taking care of your stalker! Remember what I told you- we get stalkers because there are immature bored people in this world that are so jealous of us that they just can't live without inserting themselves in our lives in some way. LOL It's sort of a compliment in a sick kind of way. Don't forget to print out not only the email but the page that proves the location. Now you can go back and print out the proof from the previous ones too. Sorry you had to go thru that. Glad I could help you track down the owner of the IP. ;) Hugs!

OH - and don't forget to file that report with google. They have a way to ban that IP address from ever using not only this site but all affiliated sights too. :)

YAY! YAY! YAY! I'm so happy for you!

And a little jealous. My job is not feeding my soul like this right now and I really wish it would!

People like you make the world better. I visit my grandmother at the nursing home and cannot get over what a tough job the nurses have. But they love my senile and sometimes mean old grandma to pieces. You're a better woman than I.
