Precious Memories

My most favorite ornaments are the ones that the kids have made throughout the years.
I'm notoriously disorganized and we've moved a lot,
so it's amazing that I've managed to hold on to these ornaments for so long.

Tim is my oldest son, he is 17 and a senior in high school.
He made this ornament in preschool.

My brother's wife had this ornament made for me.
She used to babysit Tim while I worked.
He was about 18 months old in this picture.

Shelbie is almost 15 now. She made this in preschool.
It's made with colored corn kernels.

As you can see, she made this one in Kindergarten.

Andrew made this ornament in Kindergarten, too.
He is 11 now and in 4th grade.

He made this ornament in the 2nd grade.

Elayna made this one for me, but it isn't dated.
It's definitely a few years old, and Elayna is now 9 years old,
and in 4th grade.

Elayna made this one last year in church.

*Random Bonus picture of me and Elayna, goofing around.*

That's wonderful that you've saved all those precious memories to hang on your tree every year!! The handmade ones are always the best!

My kids made ornaments for everyone a couple years ago...nothing special, just those little salt dough ornaments that they painted. I was mortified when I found out my mother threw hers away!!!!!! Can you believe that? She said, "It was gonna fall apart eventually anyway, plus I couldn't even tell what it was".

Still makes me angry when I think about it.

Can you believe that my mother-in-law gave us ornaments that my husband made when he was a little boy? How cute is that?

Those kind of ornaments are the best. I love them more than any fancy glass bobbles. They are what make a real family Christmas tree special.

My mom gave me all of my ornaments when I graduated from HS and it's interesting that there was only one handmade ornament from me. I don't recall ever making any ornaments, even the one. Is the kid ornament thing something that has started to become more popular in the past 15 years or so?

The ornaments you have are so great!

So sweet. Our tree this year is very small, so I only took out a select few ornaments. The Girl Child was putting her 1st Christmas ornament on the tree and she says, "Mama, why is this baby brown? I am not brown" Darned if she's not right. It was a gift and I never noticed before!

They are all precious. I don't put the kids ornaments on the tree anymore but I have them all safe in a box. I do love looking at them.
