Sundays In My City - Then & Now

Unknown Mami

This weekend, John and I were on our way out the door for a walk and I impulsively grabbed my camera. I'm glad I did, because I came up with an idea for today's Sundays In My City.
Then & Now!
There has been a lot of growth in my little town in the last few years, and with that has come changes & improvement.
Here are a few examples:

this is our old public library...
the older kids and I visited here many times.

{the building is still there, but now sits empty, except on Halloween it's used for a Haunted House!}

this is our beautiful New Library...which we all visit very often.

{and this is the pretty stained glass window above the door.}

the old City Hall building was torn down, and in its place is this grassy area.

this is our fancy New City Hall!

the old post office has been converted to a church...
we used to do all of our postal business here...
now you'd never guess it used to be the post office!

Now we do our business in the New Post Office!

{kind of plain, but it serves its purpose....}

this is our old Police Station...
I was fingerprinted here when I first started working in child care...
{I was clean, I promise!}

...and this is our New Police Station.
Much nicer, don't you think?

Change and growth can be good,
{although I still hope they don't put a W*l*M*rt here}!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

Our little town is growing as well. There have been rumors of a Wlmt for years but no building yet. We are suppose to get a Walgreens and a Les Schwab's this spring though.

Thanks for taking the time to show us the comparisons-- What a wonderful difference.

And I'm with you on the giant chains :-( They take the small town charm and business away.

Thanks for sharing your city!
Hope your week is good.
