Loved & Lost

This weekend is the big day - John and I are once again doing the March for Babies, in memory of John's firstborn son, Baby JW.
Before my husband was 25 years old, he'd suffered two of the greatest losses anyone can have: he lost his first child, and his father. When I met him, he was still in a lot of pain. I wanted to help him in some way. We visited the baby's grave together. It was my first time visiting the grave of a child. It was so hard to see John's pain. I got the idea of doing the March for Babies. I thought it would be a way to honor the memory of John's son in a positive way.
So, every year, we do this walk. We raise as much money as we can, so that hopefully, parents won't have to experience pain like John's and so many others.
If you aren't walking this year, please donate to the March for Babies. We would love for you to help us reach our goal this year! EVERY little bit counts, and your support means so much to us. I tell John about every single dollar donated and every single comment left, and he greatly appreciates them.
*ETA* If you want to help but can't make a monetary donation, spread the word! Link to this post, tweet it, or share it via Facebook Networked Blogs. I appreciate it!

Good luck this weekend Cyndy. I hope to make another donation before the weekend if there's anything left after the bills are paid and our a/c for the house is fixed. Hard to believe that this organization just started with kids sending in dimes so many, many years ago. I'm so glad that you do this so I can donate to it every year.

That is so sad and tragic for him. My SIL gave birth to a premie at 26 weeks, so we donate for their walk every year. THankfully, Eliza (the baby) is doing well!

hi, it's moi again, i just went and read your post about the details of baby JW... and i am so sad and tears are welling up in my eyes... john, i am so sad for you and c and cyndy all of you...

i am so sure that your son is being well taken care of by jesus himself, until you can hold him in your arms and watch him grow up in heaven, one day.

i have 2 babies waiting for me there, too.

it gives us something to look forward to, because it WILL happen.

you have a loving heart, and i am so sorry it hurts like this. yes, you both will walk for him, every year, and he knows that, he sees your commitment.. even if you guys didnt raise a penny in doing so, the intention means even more.

god bless you both and your children and families... and thank you for caring enough to share..

Awww...how sad. We do this walk some years too. If we don't do it ourselves, I might be able to help you out.
