Wordful Wednesday ~ Gone Postal

So, I painted my mailbox this weekend. This is something I've always wanted to do, and finally I just did it! It's simple but I like it.

(click on the pictures to see them full-size)

(that house is the one across the street.)

(The swirly parts are our house number, in case you were wondering.)

And, here is a picture of my favorite spot, my sanctuary.

I wish you could see my windchimes, stones, and little garden decorations. I wish you could tell that the glider seat is purple. When I get a new camera, I'll take better pics. But...there it is, the selling point of my home, the place I spend my down-time, my quiet little sanctuary. Just me, a book, and a glass of sweet tea, and I'm in heaven!

Great job on your mailbox...love the flowers! There's nothing better than sitting outside with a sweet tea in one hand and a good book in another! I'm right there with you!

You certainly do make that sound like heaven. I would love to sit out there.

Your mailbox turned out so cute!! Good idea to swirl up the numbers. ;)

I ♥ it!!!!! I need a spot like that. I know it must make you feel good to hide-a-way and refresh your spirit. And the book and sweet tea sound just perfect!!

You did a great job with the mailbox, wow. And your sanctuary makes me a little jealous, looks very peaceful.

I love it. Totally jealous you have a real live mailbox - so unheard of here in urban suburbia. I wonder if they'd let me paint my metal slot of the community mailbox, lol ;)

And you spot? GORGEOUS.

Very cute, but I was kind of liking the swirly parts best. I was fascinated - how did she manage to paint that swirly design? Guess you ruined the mystery...

Wish you could come and paint mine, but it's encased in brick and concrete. No one is going to be making off with our mailbox any time soon!

HA! When I first saw the photo, I thought, 'how cool! I wonder how she did the swirls.' I didn't realize you had blurred the house numbers. It turned got great!

How creative. I LOVE that mailbox!

We don't have a pretty mailbox like that. We have just a tiny box attached to a bunch of other boxes.

Oh, and I was looking at your book montage: you read a lot of the same books that I do. I love Nicholas Sparks.
