Friday Fragments 3.27.2009

~ Today I attended another funeral of a friend's child. My co-worker and friend lost her daughter last weekend. She was killed in a car accident. My heart is just breaking for my friend. Her daughter was only 29 and left behind 2 small children, 5 and 7 years old. It was a military service, and it was incredibly sad.

~ Saturday is our March for Babies. I'm excited to walk and proud of the money we've raised, but I'm so over it all and ready for it to be done. I seriously doubt I will do the whole Team Captain thing again next year. Thankless job! But it's for such a good cause.

~ I'm currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. What an amazing book. I don't want it to end.

~ What I need to do this weekend: Catch up on laundry.

What I want to do this weekend: Catch up on sleep.

Can someone send the laundry fairy in my direction, pretty-please?

~ The weather is just beautiful here lately. I'm ready to soak up some sun!

~ It's a fun time to live in my house right now. We moved in last fall, and we saw lots of plants but weren't sure what many of them were. Now that it's Spring, they're blooming, and lots of other plants are popping up too. It's beautiful! Among other things, we have bottle brush bushes, lots of azaleas, wysteria, and the white flowers on the arch above my little hideout (not sure what kind they are!).

~ I'm totally exhausted and my brain is too fried to think of anything else. For more Friday Fragments, visit here. For some other great reads, try here, here, here, and here.

Have a Fantastic Friday & a Wonderful Weekend!

Oooh, Bottle Brushes! I did the team captian thing for a couple years and then quit. You're right, it IS a thankless job. Ugh.

How horrible to lose a child. I would totally lose my mind if that happened.

Scaling Mount Washmore are you? What a pain in the patoot! What I do is set a timer and run loads every 45 minutes. Then I sit and watch my favorite movie while I fold it all.

In the meantime, take a nap! Doctor's orders. I took a 2 hour nap after work today.

So sad...your friend's loss of her daughter (I'll keep her in my prayers.)

I have the same goals this weekend; I'll root for you if you root for me! And thanks for doing that March for Babies event!

I loved that book, too. My son and I loved Kiterunner, too, and watched the movie last weekend. It was great!

Thanks for playing FF this week :) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to sleep in tomorrow :)

Oh noes! You just reminded me of my mountain of laundry waiting for me to start. I put it off all week long and it's literary falling out of the laundry room :) Better get on that.

So sorry to hear about your friend's daughter. That could be me, 29 with two children...puts into perspective how fragile and short life is. ((HUGS))

I'm so sad to hear the news of your friends, daughter. That just breaks my heart.

Hope the laundry fairy found her way to your house...I sent her over awhile ago. :)

That is so sad. No time to say good-bye. No mommy for the babes. I just can hardly stand the thought. Our daughter and family are already on their way back to Nebraska, and I am praying for their safety. I am glad that your friend has you.

Wow! I just lost my cousin, who is about the same age as your friend's daughter. She died of a misdiagnosed health condition. She was also military and leaves behind two small children. Just heartbreaking.
I loved A Thousand Splendid Suns! Please come by my blog and let me know what you think when you finish. You must read The Blood of Flowers next. Another awesome book!
