This totally pets my peeve.

I think most all of us have pet peeves. I have a few relatively minor pet peeves. They annoy me, but they don't make me crazy or anything. Things like:

- the empty toilet paper roll being left in the holder

- when someone empties the ice trays and doesn't refill them

- not replacing the trash bag

- when someone starts a job, but doesn't finish it

- when someone chews with their mouth open/talks with their mouth full

- when someone moves any of my decorations a fraction of an inch

- I could go on...

OK, maybe some of those are a little crazy neurotic OCD excessive. That's just how I roll.
But there's another pet peeve that I have that turns me into a raging madwoman. I seriously wanted to rip the limbs off of a certain person who did this thing last night. And I don't believe a jury in the land would convict me.

Do.not.EVER. come up to me at work, while I am CLEARLY on the phone, clearly having a conversation with the person on the other end of the line, and start talking to me as if you are the only person on earth. In my opinion, this is equivalent to saying "I am far more important than you or the other person on the other end of the line, so start listening to me. NOW." It's arrogant, and unbelievably RUDE.

Since I work with nurses, we discussed it and decided that the ripping off of the arms would really adversely affect their nursing skills. So next time this person, or anyone else, does it, I will simply rip off a leg. She can limp around and still do her job. And then, perhaps, she'll have learned her lesson!

What pets your peeve?

I hate when someone actually does replace the toilet paper roll but puts it on the WRONG WAY! Must go OVER! :)

Well the toliet paper one sure gets me going, but the biggest one for me is not following through with a plan, you know being late or not holding up your end of the deal.

haha...ripping off a leg so she'll hobbel around, now that would be interesting! ;)

As for my pet peeves, there is a list but the fastest and sureest way to get me spun up is to a)talk to me like I am a child without a brain in my head OR b)completely ignore my function at work and blindside me on the back in with something that could have been avoided. Yes, I am a little neurotic but hey - I'm also good at what I do! :)

You named a few of mine there! The empty toilet paper roll, chewing with mouth open, not putting in a new trash bag. ARGGG!

All of the above AND when someone pulls out in front of you on the road when there's no one behind you, goes one block and turns. Drives me nuts.

People who leave their pets in a hot, locked car... makes me homicidal and I tend to tattle to the police when I see it.

Walking away from me while I am in the middle of a sentence. Now, this is OK in some situations, but if you just up and walk away, that's rude.

Not understanding 'no' is another one. Adults sometimes have a bigger problem taking no for an answer than kids do. They get to thinking they are entitled to a yes no matter what. I usually end up saying, "no means no" or "what part of no didn't you understand?".

And...

Getting upset with me for standing my ground (see above). It's not just on 'no', but other things too sometime. If they have a problem respecting boundaries it's not on me.

Yes - we should consider the practicality of each limb in determining which one to rip off. It seems like you have weighed the options and leg sounds like it will work well. Haha!

Give her a skate, then she can drag her leg along with her on rounds....

So with you on many of these PP's - maybe we all have a little OCD.

my biggest pet peeve is when people will not be responsible for their actions. Its simple. You make the decision and you are responsible for your actions.

We are creating a society of people who wants to blame everyone else for things and decisions that they make.

As for the dismembering, I recommend a tazer instead. They are much cleaner, no blood and a lot more fun to watch! ;-)

I dislike any kind of interruption ... e.g., having a conversation with someone, and another walks up and starts talking as if you weren't ...
or talking with people who cannot meet your eyes/make eye contact, but their eyes wander off into the distance, or looking past you to see if someone else more important might be coming up ...
or workplace gossip. It is so unprofessional. And I have learned that whoever is bad-mouthing someone is badmouthing YOU, too. They just can't help themselves. Badmouthing others seems to elevate them somehow, build their importance (in their own minds, that is).

Ok, along the line of yours but......when you are on the phone calling home to tell them that you arrived at work and are discussing something, maybe a sick child, and the person who is sitting there that is supposed to be working and getting ready to leave, decides that she's going to talk to you about the conversation you are having on your phone. WTH, at least pretend you aren't listening in.

Socks. I swear my kids shed them like the plants shed leaves. I find them all around the house and it makes me crazy.

When my husband parks his car on MY side of the driveway. I just about had a meltdown over that one.

Coworkers who listen to their voicemail on speaker phone - geez are you so lazy you can't hold the receiver for 30 seconds?

Dr. offices not returning phone calls. As in my daughter has one today for medical clearance for surgery. She has no insurance and we pay cash. I called 3 times to see what the ballpark figure was for the visit and no one called me back. So I am sending her with the money to cover her usual visit and God.Help.Them. if they hassle her for more. I would have accepted an answer like "Well the most it could be would be $$$ and the least it could be would be $$$." I needed her vitals taken, her throat looked at and prescription for antibiotic. I am a nurse so I know what was needed. Makes me mad all over again just to think about it.

Oh, I can so relate to all of those. And I also work with nurses and one in particular doesn't care what you are doing or "who" you technically work for, she will get you to help her with stuff.

We got a new photocopier / fax machine at work and there I am minding my own business and she KEPT bugging me about how to use it.

First off, this machine is new to me too, and I haven't been here since they programmed it.

Second, I don't work for you, I just happen to have the misfortune of being closest to the damn machine.

Third, like I said, take the manual off the shelf and figure it out for yourself.

Fourth, fuck off, you cow.

How's that? lol

When I wouldn't help her, she actually went and got three secretaries from three departments, one of which is hers, and had them figure it out for her, and then show her again, and again .... and again, how to do it.

ARGH!!!

Oh, sorry. This was YOUR pet peeve post.

My bad.
