Anniversary

You make me laugh when I want to cry.

You make me smile when I want to scream.

You take care of me. You worry about me. You keep me safe.

You are my rock, my everything, my hero.

You are the love of my life.

Happy 4th Anniversary to my wonderful husband!

Weekend Wrap Up & Not Me Monday

I'm wrapping up the weekend with a Not Me Monday, my first one in fact.

1. I did not stay awake all day Friday to spend time with John, after working 12 hours the night before. That would be crazy!

2. I did not fall in love with dozens of dogs while volunteering for the Pet Rescue at Petsmart on Saturday. Who would do that? Not me!

3. I did not go thrift shopping yet again! I mean, who thrift shops all the time?

4. I did not drink way too much sweet tea this weekend. That would not be a good idea at all!

5. I did not add another animal to our zoo this weekend. I do not have the word "SUCKER" tattooed on my forehead in large red block letters. I am not the one everyone at work comes to when they need to rehome a pet. NOT ME!

6. I did not marry a man four years younger than me. He turns 32 today!

Happy Birthday to the Love of my Life!

*I DID, however, fix my roots & brows this weekend! Whew, I feel better now.*

Friday Fragments

It's Friday again! This week went by verrry slowly for me.

Since my thoughts seem to be quite fragmented, I decided to join in Mrs 4444's Friday Fragments today. Check it out over at Half Past Kissin' Time.

* J and I decided to go out tonight for Valentine's Day and hopefully avoid the crowds that will be out on Saturday night.

* We are going to Manatee Springs tomorrow with hopes of actually seeing some manatees! The time is right, let's hope the manatees cooperate.

* We're planning on going to the Horse Sanctuary and the Flea Market this weekend, too. It'll be a nice weekend of doing things we enjoy. (I heard that thought, ya perv!)

* We are doing the March for Babies next month and I decided to start a team for the unit in which I work at the hospital. It's a big job, and it's keeping me busy, but it'll be worth it when we raise big money for the babies! Today we're having a Used Book Sale, I'll be running that while I should be sleeping. I will keep you posted on our progress, and if you'd like to donate, there's a widget on my sidebar. (that sounds funny. Widget in my sidebar. Is that painful? Is that a widget in your sidebar, or are you just happy to see me?) If you're new to my blog, read here to see why this is a very important cause for our family. Oh, and if you'd like to add my widget to your blog, you are more than welcome to do so!

* I made Octopus hot dogs for the kids' snack one day this week. They loved it! I served goldfish crackers 'swimming' on the side. So cute!

Have a GREAT weekend!

This Just In:

This just in: We are totally moved in to the new house and totally out of the old house.
This just in: I am absolutely in LOVE with the new house. Now that we're there, I'm noticing all of the little things and it makes me so happy!
This just in: The kids and J are also very happy, which makes me even more happy. The happy is contagious! Even the dogs are happy with the huge yard.
This just in: I even got my fall decorations up already. It looks great!
This just in: The cable isn't hooked up yet and I'm in blog withdrawal.
This just in: I am going to meet Bob & Sheri next week and I can't wait! They're celebrating 10 years on air in my town...I'm pretty sure I've been listening most of that 10 years.
This just in: I'm totally addicted to coffee now. I can't believe I've been sucked in to the dark side!
This just in: Same with the Twilight saga. I'm near the end of the second book, which was slightly disappointing...until now.
This just in: Gotta go read New Moon unpack and arrange the last few remaining things.

**Thank you all so much for your support re: my last post! It means so much.**

Thursday Thirteen

I'm ripping off Jogging in Circles and also posting 13 Random thoughts today.

1. I have had some work issues this week but they seemed to be resolved now, and it feels like a burden has been lifted off of me!

2. I am (literally) working my butt off to lose this weight! I am exercising more and more and being sure to eat right, even though I can eat basically anything I want, within reason, now that I am 7 weeks out. And I'm darned proud!

3. I am so happy that my husband holds down a steady job. Although his employers drive me nuts sometimes, he has worked at this job for over 5 years (longer than we've known each other!), which provides myself and my children with a stability that we have never before known. With my ex, I literally never knew when he was going to come home and tell me that his boss had 'pissed him off', so he'd quit his job. It happened often and it was a scary way to live.

4. I feel sorry for 'outside' pets. I can't imagine leaving my little doggies outside all night and/or day. Would you want to be outside all the time? Dogs are pack animals and want to be with their people. Statistically, inside animals live longer (although my parents had an outside cat who lived to be 19 years old.....I swear she truly had 9 lives.)

5. I have the coolest kids on the planet. Some days, something happens...something small.....that makes me realize that although I make mistakes, I do a pretty good job, and I am teaching them what I feel is important, and it really is sinking in. Case in point: when we adopted our cat last weekend, the group had a jar for donations. My Princess had a dollar in her purse, and asked me if she could put it in the jar. All on her own. She knew she was helping the animals. I nearly cried. The rescue group was very appreciative and made her feel awesome.

6. I feel so good about putting our blood, sweat, tears, and a chunk of money into fencing our back yard. None of us really knew what we were doing, but we figured it out and have a strong, sturdy fence and we go out and play every day. It's a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

7. My house is quickly becoming a zoo. In addition to four dogs and one cat, we may soon be adding a Sugar Glider. This will be primarily my son's pet. We also foster for the dachshund rescue, and we offered to foster & volunteer for Animal People, the group from which we adopted our cat.
And I love every minute of it all!

8. We love festivals and carnivals and goofy stuff like that. This summer, I hope to take the kids to all of them that fall on our 'kid weekends'. I want my kids to experience things, and have fun doing it. It's really not that hard to find inexpensive things to do, instead of sitting home on our hineys watching TV all weekend!

9. We're also going to start playing Disc Golf. Ever heard of it? Hubby has played before and says it's a blast.

10. This must be the most boring Thursday Thirteen EVER!

11. Many of your blogs inspire me in so many ways. I am so glad I found the Blogosphere!

12. Every fall, we do something called the Gator Walk. It's a smaller version of the March for Babies, hosted by the University of Florida. We started after Mr Wonderful and I got married. His firstborn son died from complications of prematurity, so we decided to do this as a way of honoring him. Last year, my kids came along too.
I will be hitting you up for money come fall! =)

13. When we adopted our cat, I asked Mr W for help in naming her. It seems like I always end up naming our pets, fosters included. He said he wasn't good at naming pets. I asked him "well, what were some of your cats' names, growing up?" and he said, "Mama Kitty, Big Kitty, and Baby Kitty."
I told him he is now officially never having any input into pet naming.

~43 lbs, gone forever!

Thankful Thursday 3.6.2008

From Another Chance Ranch

Today has been a little rough for me. I am on day 11 of nothing but "full liquids" and I.am.so.sick.of.it.!!! I just want to fast forward....just a little while!
But Mr Wonderful......he makes it all better.
He was so worried about me tonight, and kept trying to say encouraging things, while I curled up in the fetal position on the sofa, full of self-pity. I refused to eat (really, drink) any of the crap I've been "eating" for the last 11 days. Broth, jello, pudding. Blech! I've had enough!
He kept begging me to eat, and then finally made me some egg drop soup. (which had to be STRAINED in a fine mesh strainer. blech blech blech) I told him it was good. It kind of tasted like eggie water. But I love him so much, and he rocks for all that he does for me.
I have no idea how I'd have gotten through this surgery without him, truly. And as much as I know the whole procedure terrified him, he was so wonderful. Supportive, encouraging, and helpful. He is my rock, my cheerleader, my biggest fan, and my best friend. He has done everything while I was recovering, and encouraged me to do absolutely nothing. For the most part, I needed very little encouragement for that! It's been nice to kick back and be taken care of by the man who God put on this Earth for ME.
I am so thankful for my husband!
