We're gonna party like he was born in 1999. (because he was.)

I feel like this week has chewed me up and spit me out. It's been really busy, and physically & emotionally exhausting.
As usual, Andrew's birthday went by without so much as a phone call from his egg donor, which he didn't even seem to notice, but it still bugs me. Selfishly, I'm glad she's out of the picture, but I just.don't.get.it.
However, she is SO not worth my time so I'm not even going to say another thing about it!

No drama!

Tomorrow we're having Andrew's real-deal birthday party. There will be swimming, pizza, snacks, and fun. I'm going to attempt to make this cake. It looks really easy and Andrew will LOVE it.
Especially since the dog ate the cake we had for his birthday dinner on Monday.
I thought I put it out of her reach, but obviously, I underestimated her.
Woops.
I told Andrew "hey, if it makes you feel any better, she ate my birthday cake, too."

I have to tell you about one of the gifts we got for Andrew. We gave it to him on his actual birthday. It's a nightlight that projects a scene onto the wall or ceiling, and it is seriously awesome. We got it at Walmart and I am not being compensated in any way for posting this, it's just a really cool product that I want you to know about! We got him the space scene, but the others look pretty awesome too. It really does work as well as the pictures show. Very cool!

Another reason I've described this week as emotionally exhausting is, besides some home drama, there's been sad news from my bloggy friends this week. I am so worried for Unknown Mami right now. Several of my bloggy friends are going through divorces, and I know firsthand how hard that is. Others are trying to patch up marriages after some very rocky times. And then of course, there are my friends who are hurting so deeply from experiencing devastating losses. I just hurt for them so much. I hope they all know how much their bloggy friends care for them.
And then of course there's work....it can be really sad at times, working in an intensive care unit.
And that's all I have to say about that.

I do have some good news! One of our cats, who kind of ran away months ago, is now home! He ran away before we moved to our new house (long story), and we kept going through the old neighborhood looking for him but either couldn't find him or he'd panic and run away. This was Elayna's cat, Charlie, and she was SO upset. But finally today, we saw him, and he let Elayna pick him up! And now he's home, so our feline family feels complete again.

ETA one more thing:
If the statement below speaks to you like it did to me, you need to click the link. Seriously, you need to.

"I'm currently making some changes in my life. If you don't hear from me, you're one of them."

Alright my friends. So much to do, so little time. But make sure you visit Mrs 4444s for more Friday Fragments!

I bet the cake comes out great!
Ohhh and speaking of cakes I finally got my mississippi mud cake brownie stuff that I won on your give away! Can't wait to make them!

And my heart is breaking for Mami as well. If a community of prayers can produce a miracle she's in great hands!

Glad your kitty is back safely! It's amazing how much those little buggers mean to us.

Cake looks very good, you'll have to post a picture when it's done. Andrew is very lucky to have you!

Yeah for kitty cat returning. A long vacation I suppose :)
That projection light you got your son for his room does sound very cool. I will have to check it out.
Divorce is never easy.
Love that quote.

You are a braver person than I am -- that cake is impressive! Good luck!

I'm glad you cat returned safely. Ours wouldn't go outside if we tossed them. Big babies.

I pray Mami's doctors were wrong. I cannot fathom what she's going through right now.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Am so jelous, I only ever had those stick on stars which glowed in the dark for my bedroom as a child. lol After a while they even started to fade too. Not good.

Bless you all, Andrew doesnt need to hear from that other woman when he has his whole world in and with you. Frustrating as it is try and keep that in your heart.

Take care, KC, xx

I can't help but laugh at the "Changes" quote. I may have to steal it - but I'm heading over to the link to get the full scoop!

Happy Birthday to Andrew! I hope he has/had a wonderful birthday!

My MIL got the boys that nightlight. They LOVED it. Until they played with it so much they broke it. Oops.

Hehe! That changes quote cracked me up! :)
Have a great weekend!

I've been praying very hard for Unknown Mami. Another blog friend of mine is due today and her brother lost his 5 year old this week. She can't even go to be with him.
I think you should be able to make that cake, just make sure you put it way, way up! The projector light sounds like fun. That is great news on your cat. Have a fun party.

We used to have a cool night light like that too that projected pictures with music.

I would think working in Intensive Care would be very sad. I really appreciated how nice the nurses were to my mom when she had to be in there. I would think people would be dying every day that you care for.

So glad your cat has come back home! That is wonderful!

Kitty freedom isn't what he thought it was - thankfully you found him and he let you all bring him home. Congrats.

Unknown Mami is in my prayers, too. It's just heartbreaking.

I love that quote - making changes - and it's so true. I've done that several times in my life, but the neat thing is that at that time I've also added people to my life :)

I love your first sentence. It's exactly how I feel. Exactly. Happy birthday to Andrew. Sorry to hear about the cake (though it was kind of funny).

Love that cake, how fun is that! I am SO going to get one of those nightlights for my daughter for her Birthday or maybe for both of them for Christmas. I think they would be a huge hit! I too cannot stop thinking of Unknown Mami. I just keep praying that it is all a big oops & come her next appt all will be ok.

Oh my baby's birthday was on the 17th too! I made her a wee little family cake and bought a great big ice cream cake for her birthday. Felt guilty for not doing it myself for about 2 minutes:)

So glad you got your kitty back! I know my girls would be devastated if we lost our troublesome cat.

Thanks for posting the link to that space thingie!! Cole and Bella's b-day is coming up and I think they'd LOVE that!!! And I have to go to Walmart sometime this week so I'll look for it when I'm there!

Glad you got your kitty back!!! Ours disappears for days at a time but she always manages to come home! The kids would be devastated if she disappeared for months!

Lastly, love that quote!!!! I'm tempted to post it as my quote of the week on my FB page!
