So today I visited the employee clinic at the hospital in which I work.
To my surprise, I had not suffered a stroke, and I don't have a fatal illness. Woohoo, go me!
But, the doctor said that I do have Plantar Fasciitis.
Okay, fine. Sounds interesting.
She said I need to stop wearing crocs.
Okay, fine. Not the end of the world, I can deal.
She said I need more arch support.
Okie dokie.
Then, she said I need to stop wearing flip-flops.
I.don't.THINK.so.
Has she lost her ever-loving mind?
Is there anything else even available to wear in Florida in the summer?
I've been wearing flip-flops since....probably before I could walk!
I am a flip-flop girl!
She will get my flip-flops when she pries them off of my cold, dead feet.

My hubby had plantar fasciitis and as soon as he started wearing arch supports, the pain and discomfort went away. You might want to give them a try. Not too sure if I could give up flip flops, either!
i would cry so hard if i couldn't wear flip flops...i have too much love!
I live in FLIP FLOPS and I would not budge in giving those puppies up! Wear your arch support now before summer comes so your planter thing will hopefully be gone.
Sorry, I am not a fan of Crocs LOL
I've had plantar fasciitis too and all my doctor did was give me several exercises to do in the morning. I haven't had any more problems for months. But the flops thing? Not in Florida!
Flip flops with arch support -that's what we need. Dr. Scholls should get on that.
I had this and I use to put a tennis ball under my foot and roll it around while applying some pressure. I did this whenever I would watch T.V. It got considerable bettr in less than a month.
No Flip-Flops?!?!! That's like telling a Floridian not to wear short sleeve shirts. No way!
So sorry to hear. I've heard plantar fascitis is quite painful. Many of my previous nurse co-workers had it.
Hope all the other alternatives help!
ouch! I had plantar fasc. for awhile. Not fun! Especially when it gets so bad that you are hobbled when you first get up in the morning. But I'll give you a clue -- the arch supports are great! And just wear flip flops with a heel to them. Having your heel elevated will ease some of that pain! And get a pedi -- I'm sure it's medically necessary! =)
NOT the flops. I think she has lost her mind!
Have her shoot a shot of corizone into your foot. Sounds awful ..but well worth it.
I have been living with PF for a couple of years now. I use arch supports, I ice my foot by rolling a frozen bottle of water under my arch (this works best, if you're consistent...like twice a day, every day for 10 minutes a pop), but I will never give up my Crocs or flip-flops. Never!
now that is funny, no flip flops in florida?! She must have fallen and hit her head...but on a serious note, there are a pair of flip flops (I'll have to look up the brand and email you) that have really good support. As a runner, there are quite a few of us who are addicted to them. You bake them (yes, in the oven) and then you stand on them/wear them and they mold to your feet. Oh and they are SO soft, like floating on a cloud. You should look into them, perhaps they will help.

I know that crap hurts! But being a northerner, I'm not into the flip flop thing. I have issues with shoes and sneakers, as you know. LOL Flip Flops would be the end of my walking!
I hear you on the flip flops, but I'll never have your problem, our winters are toooo long. May your feet recover without giving up flip flops.
LOL! I don't think I could go without my flip flops either. I love them. I hope your feet get better. Since I've gotten older it just gets more and more important for me to wear something comfortable on my feet. But I love my flip flops. Especially during the summer.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love reading your blog and hope to get to know you better. I am also a follower now too. And I have your button on my blog now too. And I love the colors of your blog. I am a color woman too. Everything is always pink or green or anything color!
I could never give up the flops, either!!
yeah I don't think I could give up flips either - hope you are on the mend!
