Can I Get a Little Sympathy?

Clear Overnight Low

I am seriously in need of some sympathy here.

I live in Florida. The Sunshine State. You know...beaches, palm trees, the whole deal.

So, what the heck is up with lows in the 20's?

I know, I know, you're thinking, sympathy? Please! We deal with temps like that all the time, and much lower! And snow, and all that stuff.

But here's the thing....we are not used to these temps! We don't own clothes like these:

because we just never need them!

We're used to one of these -

getting us through the coldest days.

Our cars don't know how to act. Our heaters are in shock!

Our blood is thin.

Our skin is thin.

We are weak!

So, please, can we have just a little bit of sympathy?

Anyone? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

It's awfully quiet around here.......

Sure I'll throw you a little sympathy! I feel your pain. I went out to the truck this morning when I left work and the temp said 14. You need some snow though! Can't truly appreciate a 23degree winter morning without a little snow on the ground!

Yeah, you need snow and slush and rain that freezes on the ground making everything slippery and making you fall down while holding a 2 year old, so you bang your knee into the ground (so you don't drop the baby or fall backwards with baby) and it still hurts 2 weeks later.

It is currently reading 8 degrees outside this morning.

You definitely have my full-blown sympathy because I'm in need of some, too! We live outside of "Hotlanta" and it's 20 degrees this morning! I've never been so miserable! I may just crawl back under my electric blanket after everyone leaves! I am not much of a cold-weather person, though I do like a little snow once in awhile. Hope things improve soon, for both of our sakes!

No way! ;) (kidding - kinda of)

I would do anything for it to be 23 outside today. That means it doesn't hurt when you breathe outside.

I'm in Miami, it was in the low 40s this morning and the kids did not know what to do with themselves getting off to school this morning. I had to wrap my daughter in a cardigan and a windbreaker and two shirts. We don't own any cool weather clothes, and I actually had to *gasp* turn the heat on last night. Yep, you've got my sympathy. 23 degrees in Florida just seems wrong!

now - do you even own a winter coat?

Sure, I'll sympathize. Everyone has their own form of hell...this one is yours. Stay warm with lots of hot beverages.

Just so next time you remember me when you are out on the beach soaking up the sun, playing in the sand. Sorry you are so cold, I am only a few miles north of you and exsperiencing the same coldness. I wish it would warm up just a bit.

Awww your poor poor dear. How was that? Do you feel better? I am so far behind, but is it still cold there in Florida?

I'll give ya some sympathy! I'm in Northern CA, so I wouldn't know what to do with myself if it got that cold here either! Hope you get some sunshine soon:)

I am right there with you on this awful cold weather. We live in Sunny, FL for a reason. Bring back the warm sunshine that we love...

No sympathy! It was -9 here the other day! We don't like those temps either!

Wow! Frozen orange juice trees!

O.K., I'll give you some sympathy. Try layering, keep your head covered and make sure to warm your car up before driving.

I so feel your pain. It's been friggin' cold in my neck of the woods too. I can't remember the last time I had to scrape ice off my car windows and now it's almost every morning. So wrong!

Well now, I can't empathize because I'm in sunny Southern CA (in the upper 70's this week) : ), but I'll throw some sympathy your way...you poor baby, you.

Love the picture, by the way.

YES! SYMPATHY from the Tampa Bay area! I'm freezing my... well, something, see I'm so cold I don't even know my own body parts... off!

I can so relate. It gets a little weird here in Texas when it gets that cold. I think what people don't understand up north is that we have humidity which makes it seem even colder than what it is. All I can say is just be happy it isn't snowing!!!

OK--I'll give you a little sympathy! Those oranges look pretty sad!

I need a little back though--we had temps last week of -17 (w/out wind chill)!!

I would not know what to do either, I am not used to that cold either! I do have sympathy for you!

Do you hear the crickets? Yeah.

LOL

My brother's girlfriend came for a visit over Christmas. She is from Miami. She had to buy a coat just for her trip here.
