Weekend Wrap-up & Stuff

~ Thank you all for all of the comments & advice on my last post. Many of you suggested only cooking & buying healthy foods, which I actually already do. For the most part, our meals at home are very healthy. It's the 2 meals per day he eats at work that worry me, as well as the choices he makes when we're out. But I'm taking your advice & having a talk with him, and then if I have to pull out the nagging.........well, hopefully I won't.

~ The Gators won the National Championship last week, and on Sunday we went to the Celebration at the Swamp. It was a blast, and we found out that our boy, Tim Tebow, is coming back for one more season. We were thrilled to hear that. From the time he came onto the field, the entire crowd was yelling "One more year!" Except for me....I was yelling "Take off your shirt!" Heh. I heart him. (seriously, he is a great guy and a very good role model, as well as an awesome quarterback. and hot.)

~ I finally broke down and went to the doctor today due to the Crud I've been fighting off and on for weeks. I could've saved us both time by just saying, "I have a sinus infection, gimme a Z-pack", but I let him earn his money.

~ I got this book today at the library, and I am loving it! Where has she been all of my life? How have I not heard of this book before? Am I the only one who's been under a rock and missed this?

~ Deadbeat mothers make me sick. I just had to get that off of my chest!

How was your weekend? What are you reading? What do you need to get off of your chest?

Good luck with your talk with hubby. I really hope it's productive.

I'm reading Finding Alice by Melody Carlson. I'm about half way through, and it's awesome.

I'm going to have to read your suggestion next!

i dont get into football, and lots of my fam and a couple friends are from oklahoma, so needless to say, i didnt see too much gator love last week.. but can i just tell you right now that mr. tebow just might make me start to love football, and the gators?? WOO-WEE!! =P

i'm reading eclipse AGAIN!!!!

THIS i have to get off my chest...i'm a legal secretary... what is bothering me SO MUCH right now, is this:
mom (our client) has a 2yr old daughter. dad gets visitation, however, he is being charged with raping his 7 yr old daughter (by another woman) and his attorney on our case says mom HAS to let him have the 2 yr old because he hasn't been found guilty yet, or he'll file contempt charges.

i'd go to jail for contempt before he took my 2 yr old. of course, where does that put the child??

thankfully we are waiting to see what the judge says, and i pray that he errs on the side of caution.

hope you feel better soon - I think I may have to get that book - I need to start reading other than blogs and mags!!

Why don't you and he pack him a lunch to take to work - then he wouldn't be tempted to buy the crap he is not supposed to eat? I make my husband a lunch everyday - sandwich and apple for lunch and a banana and yogurt for breakfast. sometimes I throw in the oatmeal cups

Since it makes my daughter happy, and you happy, I guess I can be happy about Tebow too. Meh!

Sounds like a pretty good weekend for you...yay! And since you asked...I think 'whoring' mothers suck, if your going to do it ... thats your choice, but don't do it and then act all self rightious and 'above' that. Seriously, that's all I'm saying. *Not talking about anyone in particular here* ;)

I went and quickly read your last post. I was also going to suggest making healthier meals for dinner but since it's the meals he's eating when he's not at home...Yeah. Talk to him. I'm going thru a similar situation with my honey. Although he knows his weight is not good and that he needs to eat better. It's just a matter of DOING something about it. Ugh!
