Summer Fraggin Fun

It's been a crazy week at work, and I am happy to see Friday - and Fragments, too, of course!
Although this weekend is going to be pretty crazy, too.

* We're having a party for the kids on Saturday night. They have been wanting to do this since we moved into our new house with the pool and huge yard. We're going to have a bonfire and grill hot dogs; just simple summer fun! And hopefully we'll get to see some friends who we don't get to see very often, although I learned quickly that summer parties are hard to plan, with everyone trying to get their vacations in!

* Generally, when many people gather at my home, things get broken. Last time, it was Elayna's softball trophy. =/ So, let's cross our fingers that all of our possessions remain intact after this party!

* On a totally UNrelated note (ahem), I think I've found the title of the memoir I'll write one day: "It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time....". Heh.

* After reading Momo Fali's post about bypassing her 500th post and not even realizing it, I decided to see what post number I was on. This one right here is number 602! So I just whizzed right by 600. That's ok though, because next month will be my 3 Year Blogiversary, and I'm going to start planning something fun!

* I received an award that I am particularly fond of from my friend Shawna at My Girls. It's called "A Blog With Substance". What an honor! Thank you, Shawna.

* I am thinking about growing my hair out for Locks of Love. I've been growing it out for a while, and I think after the summer (or when I have enough), I'll cut it off and donate it. My oldest daughter Shelbie did it when she was in 5th grade. I think it's a great organization. Have you ever donated to Locks of Love?

OK friends, wish me (and my breakables) luck this weekend!
And have a good one yourself.

WOW a summer party sounds like so much fun. Wish we had a house to do that in. I hope everything stays in tact. That can be hard when everyone is having a blast.

I think growing your hair out for locks of love is an awesome idea. Make sure you take lots of pictures when you do decide to cut it.

I plan on coming back here again real soon. Need to keep on this more so I can keep up with what's going on with you. Miss our late night text messages. Hope you and the family are doing great.

BTW, are you ready for some football!!!!! It's almost that time of year again. Can't wait here. :)

I love random posts like this. They're fun to do and fun to read.

I donated to Lock of Love a few years ago. I felt really good about it.

Stopping by from SITS.

GOOD LUCK this weekend. I hope that everything stays in one piece and that everyone has fun. My daughter donated her hair a few years ago. It was so neat and such a great thing for her. I think you should. If mine ever could grow I would too.

I've been growing my hair out for a while now. It is getting fairly long. I think I will donate to LOL too. I've always wanted to do that. :)

Have fun at your party!

yay for summer parties. and I LOOOOVE the title of your future memoirs.

As far as the forum goes - it was a online sweepstakes forum where I would list my giveaways.

A summer party sounds super fun, and ambitious. We had lots of neighbors over for a 4th of July cookout, but not tons of kids! Good luck!!

Yes, I've heard of locks of love. I should have donated last time if I had realized my hair was long enough!

Good luck for the party and possessions. Great idea for locks of love. I'd love to do it, but am sure they wouldn't want my thinning straggly mess.

Oh that sounds very brave, a summer party - fingers crossed your house remains intact. I read about Locks of Love over at Jenny Mac's blog a while ago as she did this and I think it is a wonderful cause.

That would be awesome to donate your hair. Hope your party is fun and that nothing breaks. Wear sunscreen! That sounds like a great title for your memoir. Have a great weekend.

I am in the process now of growing out for locks of love....I'm about 2 inches shy of 10...I'll get there!! Let's hope I get there before they give me any treatment that makes it all fall out!

I think your book title is perfect! And yes, I have "donated" to Locks of Love...almost. I grew out my hair. I cut off a foot to send in. And I let it sit around on a shelf for a couple of years. I'm not sure where it is anymore. I may have finally just throw it away thinking it wasn't so good anymore. Or I may have packed it as a keepsake and moved it to Alabama with us. I really can't remember. Yes. I am strange. I think I'm about to cut all my hair off because otherwise, it's just all going to fall out. I'm losing it by the handful these day. I don't know what's going on. Some kind of vitamin deficiency? Breastfeeding issue? I don't know, but I'm sick of finding my hair all over my body and all over every surface in my house. It's disgusting. My husband is less than thrilled with me having short hair, though.

My hair is so baby fine that if I grew it out, it would be one lock. Oh it would be given in love, but it would still just be a lock.

I hope the party goes over with no mishaps!

Hope your party went well on Saturday. It sounded a perfect way to enjoy summer with your family and friends. We have been away so I am catching up with your blog today. Glad you and Shelbie liked the key chains.

Good for you on growing your hair out for locks of love! I wanted to donate about 2 years ago but the stylist I went to said my hair wasn't long enough. Turns out (after the fact, of course) I found out that I had more than enough to donate. I was SOOOO angry.

I like the title of your future book...I totally get it!!!

Hope your party turned out lovely! I have never had the patience to grow my hair out for locks of love.. I end up cutting it before it is long enough! My hair is currently the longest it has been in a long time... we'll see if I make it this time! ;)

Pool party's are always fun, but not when stuff gets broken!

Cool about the Locks for Love thing, I just about cry when I get my hair trimmed, so I don't think I could do it! :)
