The Stupid Thing I Did Today, Volume III

I do stupid things on a pretty regular basis. I guess you could say I'm scatter-brained. If you're being kind. My mind seems to normally be on about 12 things at once. That's my excuse for the Stupid Thing I Did Today.
It was quittin' time, which for me is 0700. In my defense, work is very hectic right now, and mornings are especially busy. So, after finishing my morning duties, I gathered up my things and left.
Except...I left one very important thing behind.
My.freaking.PURSE.
I didn't realize it until I was getting out of the car. At home. In another town.
Now, I don't know about you, but my purse contains my life. I had my keys and cell phone in my pocket, otherwise I'd have never made it home without realizing I didn't have it. But everything else of any importance? In my purse.
Daily medications? Which I need? In my purse.
Cash? In my purse.
Cards? In my purse.
Hairbrush? In my purse.
I can't tell you how many times today I thought of something I needed and then remembered: Oh yeah. It's in my purse.
Fortunately, I didn't need to buy anything, and obviously I lived without all of the other precious things that were in my purse.
But you can bet that I will be very certain that my purse is hanging on my arm when I leave in the morning!

Tell me about your purse. Is your whole life in there, or only a few necessities?
And...have you done anything stupid lately? Come on, you can tell me!

I would FREAK. OUT. if I left my purse anywhere (which I have and did).

I lost a set of keys this weekend. I think think that I threw them away. RRRRR. I just hate doing stuff like that.

well, i usually travel [local] with just my wallet which is tiny, and it has my life in it. but if i go out or to another town, my purse has everything from ibuprofen to nail clippers to a deck of cards.

i am always afraid i will lose it.

Everything is in my purse, including a stash of snacks for emergencies. I have this constant fear that I'll get stuck in an elevator for hours, so when I step onto one I immediately think, "Okay, I've got two granola bars in here...I'll be fine for awhile."

I only carry a purse when I leave the house once a month to go grocery shopping lol and sometimes I don't even carry it then, I just stick the money in my pocket and go :)

My purse is my life too! Even before I had kids I had everything you would need in my purse. I rememeber my nieces & nephews coming to ask me if they needed a band-aid or a piece of gum or whatever. My sisters used to make fun of me & really they still do, but I am always the lifesaver so I get the last laugh! :)

OMG, I would have had to go back and get it. :) But you know what, I never leave anywhere without my purse. My problem is that I will leave my house without my cell phone. And of course not realize it until I'm where I need to be. Irritating because I know I HAVE to go back and get it. It's my life line and we don't have home phones. I'm a dork!!!

I have so much in my purse! I have 1 credit card, my Costco card, my bank card, my checkbook and my drivers license...I have a ton of other stuff like receipts, garbage I am sure and stuff that needs to be taken out...

I have locked myself out of the house several times, and had to shove my 4.5 yr old daughter thru the bathroom window! That my dear, is stupid! For me anyways!

I think I've done worse with my purse.

How about leaving it on top of your car when you drive away...remembering it ten minutes later...

driving like a lunatic back to where you drove off from...

...and almost crying in relief because it is still laying there...although with a tire track over it.

oh my purse. this is a conflict that steve and I have daily. I leave it in the backseat of the truck because I am forever leaving the HOUSE without my purse. it has medications, my kindle, my wallet, my day planner ... I am lost without it (tho I have learned to keep extra meds in the house).
as far as stupid things I have done lately? like grabbing the hot rack in the oven because I wanted to get the boiling-over dish out of there real quick? is that what you meant? ;0)

I have a small purse but I have to keep it attached to me at all times or I would leave it everywhere.

Stopping by from SITS to say hi without my bag. ;) I can't tell you how many times I've done that! Have a great day. xoxo

Well, you know me and my LOVE of purses... hence my blog's name :D
I carry a different one every day. Dave Barry has said, "My wife would not think of leaving the house for even a half hour without sufficient possessions in her purse alone to establish a comfortable wilderness homestead." Yeah, that about sums me up, too.
Although, I love having my son sitting in the front seat of the car, I hate that I have to put my bag in the back seat. I'm forever digging in it and having to grab it from the back... well, that's just a hassle :D

A) My life is one stupid moment after another

B) I stopped carrying vital crap in my purse, or at least have spare vital crap at home in case I lose my purse or it's stolen. I freaked out several years ago when I realize how much I depend on the stuff I carry around with me. I removed anything that couldn't be replaced. Now that thing is my cell phone and I keep meaning to write down all of those hundreds of numbers. If I lose my phone I am soooooo screwed.

A pretty big portion is in my purse. I have less then I use to and actually I should take more cards out and leave them at home.
I never carry more then 2 checks because my wallet was stolen at a party and checks were written!!!
Most everything else is replaceable.

Ha! I completely lack a purse. I throw all my crap in the diaper bag with the kid's stuff. One less thing for me to carry!

I don't have a daily job, so I don't have my life in my purse -- I tend to think that if you're gone 8+ hours a day you'd carry more with you. Just some cash and my insulin and test kit. I have duplicates at home (well, not duplicate cash! lol)

Sounds like you weren't worried about anything being stolen while you were in another city from your purse, so that's a relief.
