It's my Bloggiversary & I'll have a giveaway if I want to!

Today is officially two years since I wrote my very first post. I wanted today's post to be celebratory, but after the news I got yesterday, I can't help but feel all weepy and emotional.
A lot has changed since I started blogging.
I've made many friends, too many to count. I've also lost a few along the way. Most notably, Beany. She literally was lost. She disappeared last October and as far as I know, nobody knows where she is. I can only imagine how devastating it was to her family.
I watched little Madeline Spohr grow and get cuter and smarter every day, and then was heartbroken when I read that she passed away.
And of course there have been many good times. Kat, one of my friends from way back, recently had a beautiful baby girl. Piper, one of the inspirations for my blog, just got engaged to a wonderful man. Momisodes is pregnant. Melissa and Kim started blogging again (and Melissa went on Dr. Phil!!).
I've connected with bloggers who live near me. And so many that live far away.
I've been touched, saddened, thrilled, amused, annoyed, disgusted, surprised, disappointed, overwhelmed. I've taken a couple of breaks. But never seriously considered closing my blog.
I love it, and I love the community. I don't read the crazy-big bloggers, the ones who don't ever have time to visit me, because I am here for relationships. Friendships. (although I do feel almost famous when OhMommy comments here! She's been in a friend since the beginning, too.)
Many of you have been here for me through happy times and rough times. I've bared my soul and you've supported me. You've been there through thick....

And I so appreciate those of you who still loyally visit. Even when it's hard to find time.
So since it's my bloggiversary, I'm giving away a blog-related gift. I'm putting together a Blogging Gift Pack. I could not have a blog if I didn't have a journal. So many of my blog ideas come to me either driving down the road, or reading a book, or at work. I'd never remember all of them if I didn't have a journal to write them down in. It can be anything from a few words to a paragraph. But it keeps me from forgetting all about it. I'm going to add in a few more fun little surprise things as well.

So, if you want to win, leave me a comment telling me what you love the most about blogging.
For a second entry, follow me or let me know that you're already a follower.
For an third entry, tweet my post and then come back and leave another comment with the link to that tweet. The contest will end on the last day of the month, Wednesday, September 30th.

Thank you all and good luck!

I think I've been following your blog for just a short period - since I starting doing the Friday Fragments. It's been a pleasure meeting you.

You answered a question that I had the other day - I wondered if there was ever any news about Beany. That is a tragic story.

I read Pioneer Woman's blog because she helps me with my photography and my cooking :) but there isn't a chance that she will see me in the crowds at her door. But other than that, I don't read the giant blogs either.

I just wrote on my blog about a gift I received from a blogging acquaintance. I think it's the unexpected kindness and heartfelt comments that really touch me about blogging. The daily comments from new friends and the comments that my mom leaves every so often are also wonderful.

Congrats on your 2nd anniversary. It's been a pleasure to meet you!!

Happy Bloggiversary! I follow a few of the big blogs (Pioneerwoman, for instance). But mostly, like you, I follow people more like me.

Okay, I'm following. Thought I already was. Guess I missed the invitation over there.
What I love about blogging.....the friendships I've made, hearing about what everyone else is doing and learning new things from my friends.

Happy Blogoversary!! It seems a lot of us started out about two years ago. My first post (on my Art blog) was September 13th, 2007. I started out as a Diarist, thinking I would keep track of my progress as an artist. Today, I have this incredible circle of friends and people I have come to admire - all due to blogging.

Hey girl! Congrats.. 2 years is sooo awesome! :)

I love a lot of things about blogging--but, I'd definitely have to say the friendships beat everything else out. Getting to know people--and being there for their highs and lows...
I'm so glad you're blogging--and I enjoy coming to visit here. I, too, don't read the Big Name bloggers.... congrats again, on your two years! :)

have a great weekend!!

Happy Bloggiversary. I love the connections I've made through blogging, particularly since it's so difficult for me to make new friends in my daily life. Blogging has become a great way to voice my ideas and to meet moms I can relate too. There's really nothing like it.

Congrats on your two years. Here's to many more.

Happy bloggiversary!

I love the connections with women, that is why I blog. It started out as an easy way to keep my family updated in our lives with stories and pictures, but once I understood blogging more then I realized what a great community it can be. Women can often be so hard on each other and through bloggging I feel like I can be myself without judgement!

You look like a totally different person going from thick to less thick? Must have been lots of hard work!

Congratulations on your two years! I'm sorry for all of the losses you've experienced. I've only been blogging for a few months now, but I'm amazed at how I feel so connected already to other women out there in bloggy land. Have a great weekend! So glad I wandered over from SITS!

Happy Bloggiversary!

My favorite part about blogging is the interaction with other bloggers. I had no idea how much I would get out of it.

Congratulations on the Blog-oversary! I LOVE your blog, I LOVE that your so honest and upbeat, even when life is rather craptastic. I LOVE that you can make me smile even when my day is craptastic. But most of all I enjoy the friendships and the community that blogging has given me...with wonderful people like you out there, it makes every moment so worth it.

Happy anniversary! I love ur blog and was going to follow anyway before I knew it would get me another point in the contest.

What I love about blogging
1. When I read something funny enough to make me laugh (you know the kind of laugh where you shoot pepsi out your nose, if you happen to be drinking pepsi? THat knd of laugh. But not the clean the pepsi squirt off the keyboard)

2. When I'm blogging I"m not cleaning house

3. Meeting new people and making new friends!

I would do the tweat too, but I'm not on twitter yet... have to get FB in order first!

Happy, happy birthday!

Hmmm, what do I love most about the blogger behind Putting the Fun in DysFUNctional? Well, for one, you're the kind of chick I would instantly click with upon first glance - you're open, unbiased and you don't judge. Your blog makes me smile and is quite often heart warming. At times you've caused a bit of a spark in me in the form of a post that I just HAD to put in my 2 cents - and that's impressive since post never really really ignite me like that.

You're your own, meaning that you're one of the few who doesn't seem to be following the crowds, rather, you're just you.

I think your readers have a huge sense of who you are as an individual rather than a mom. Those are my favorite kind of blogs to read and why I'm still reading.

Congrats on 2 years xo

Happy Blogiversary!!

I don't comment nearly as much as I should, but I stop by all the time. I agree, the best thing about blogging is the community of people who just "get it."

Congrats and KEEP GOING!
