Shelbie's Art

As I mentioned on Friday,
my oldest daughter Shelbie is a talented artist.

She had four of her creations displayed
at her school's art show on Thursday night.

I am in awe of her work.
Watercolors, pastels, stipple art, collages....
they're all amazing.

She has a thing for anchors.
Finally, she created something for HERSELF;
she usually makes things to give other people.

She made this adorable owl for her baby cousin Hayleigh.

I think she's actually going to keep this one!
This is stipple art.  It's a rose.

Cutest giraffe EVER.

This one wasn't displayed this year;
she made it for me last year and as you can see,
I had it framed.
It hangs on my bedroom wall.
I love turtles.
This one is also from a previous year.
She made it for her cousin,
who is a US Marine.
Next year she's going to take AP Art.  That will be her senior year in high school (gulp! how did THAT happen?).  I told her that I hope she always continues with her art.  I took art all through school and loved it and did very well.  But since school, I haven't done any kind of art, and I really wish I had kept up with it.  It's so therapeutic.  I hope to get back into it one day.  And I hope she never stops!

Linking up with Dude Mom and Seven Clown Circus for WordFUL Wednesdays!

She is very talented! That owl is perfect for a little girl's room. The Marine one is quite striking, and I say that as the daughter of a Marine.

She has a true talent, for sure. Very impressive! I love them all but I have a soft spot for giraffes. ;)

Oh wow! She is mega talented! I'm in awe! :) I hope she never stops - she's amazing! I'm like you - I used to draw and create art all the time, but haven't done it in years - and like you, I hope to get back into one day. Definitely encourage her to keep on going! :)

Those are all beautiful! You probably remember that my son is also an artist. I'm glad she lets you brag, I mean post, about her art. ;-) He put the kibosh on that for me. :( I guess I'll have to just be proud of your daughter, instead! =)

That is unbelievable.
Well it's not.
Because I know she's awesome already.
This art?
Makes her even more awesome-er.
She's so talented. Keep chasing this dream.

Those are gorgeous! I did art all my life, including AP in high school, then got my BFA in college. Now I write. But it's about the journey, right? :)
