Frazzled Friday Fragments

I know I whine about being tired all the time, but fortheloveofGod, it's Friday once again and I am TIRED once again! I have been working an extra shift every other Friday (on the weekends that the kids are at their dad's), but this weekend, I'm not doing it! I'm going to rest my weary bones.
I feel like I'm behind on everything, from housework & yardwork to blogging and emailing and pretty much everything in between. Every weekend I try to catch up, every weekend I make some progress, but actually catching up seems like trying to herd cats.
It just ain't happening.
So this week when I stopped by my friend ShortMama's blog, I noticed that she was taking a week off of blogging. I thought, that's genius! Not that blogging is a lot of work, but it does consume some time. I figure if I take a week off of blogging, I can work towards catching up on YOUR blogs! And of course, all the other stuff that's behind in my life. But I do have my priorities!
So that's the deal. I'm frazzled, I'm fragging, and then I'm off for the week.

Frag 1. Elayna caught a softball with her tummy last night. It came at her quick, she tried to catch it in her glove, but didn't quite make it. She tried not to cry, but it really hurt! It immediately made a purple ring on her belly. But within a few minutes, she was back on the field playing again. That's my girl!

Frag 2. This week, our county implemented a uniform policy for all public schools, Kindergarten - 12th grade. There are very mixed feelings about this, from kids and parents alike. Do your kids wear uniforms? How do you feel about school uniform policies?

Frag 3. I got my first Snail Mail this week! I have two snail mail partners, one here in the US and one in England. This week I got Snail Mail from England. I am so excited about this project! If you don't know what I'm talking about, click the button.

Frag 4. Speaking of buttons, I made myself a new one. Check it out! I'd love for you to grab it.

Frag 5. This week is my kids' last week of school. During the summer, their dad and I alternate weeks. It's hard, I miss them a lot! I am trying to console myself by thinking of all of the wonderful, uninterrupted sleep I will get. That's a definite plus side! We're trying to plan some fun things to do on the weeks that they're at home. Camping, for sure!

Frag 6. I'm fragged out! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! And don't forget to visit Mrs4444's (a teacher who is OUT FOR SUMMER!) for more Friday Fragments!

Enjoy your blog break. I think we all need one from time to time. Now about school uniforms - almost every school in England has school uniforms. It was the best invention EVER. It will save you lots of money in the long run. Each morning there are no big decisions about what to wear. Each kid looks the same and there's no competition about looking the best or having the most fashionable clothes. It's just really convenient from a Mom's point of view and my daughter doesn't mind her uniform apart from the tie which she hates! Glad your snail mail has arrived.
Have a lovely weekend.

My son's school has uniforms. I love it...and I never thought I'd say that. I makes life so much simpler; no arguing, just put on the uniform.

Our school district has a dress code, but not specific uniforms. I'm not sure how I'd feel if we did have uniforms.

Have a great weekend and enjoy your blogging break!

I got my snail mail too. I will have to come back for your button.
I'm going to get ready to go to Las Vegas and I am not taking my computer! I even turned off my comments today because I don't want to be overloaded when I get home Monday. I am actually looking forward to the break. Have a wonderful weekend. Ouch on the belly catch!

My son had to wear a uniform in Texas schools. It was really just a school shirt and he could still wear his own pants (slacks or non-torn jeans). They had about 8 different shirts they could wear that had the school name on them. It really wasn't bad. It put all the kids on the same level ya know? There was none of the "you can't afford these clothes" stuff that happens without uniforms. I love your new button and if I am sleeping tonight I should remember to grab it tomorrow :) Enjoy your week off...you deserve it!

I got my snail mail, too! My partner is from Indonesia, so it's cook that it arrived so quickly. Thanks so much for doing this project.

Enjoy your week off! I think I'd start itching or something if I took a week off. I also know that very little extra housework would get done even if I didn't blog. I'd watch movies or something LOL

Way to go! That's for your daughter :)

I always thought it was kind a cool thing to have a week on and a week off. But, I don't have kids and my parents got divorced when I was in my 20s, so I didn't have to go between the two.

I do think it is awesome that you and the kids dad share the kids and you make it work.

Oww. I have caught the softball to the tummy before, talk about pain. I had to just lay down on the field until I could attempt to breathe without puking! It did make a cool bruise though.

I hated having to wear a uniform in high school. Our county made us do it for one year. It made things easier b/c we always knew what we were gonna wear the next day, but you just loose some of your individuality.

Happy Friday!

Poor Elayna! Catching the ball with her tummy! That would hurt and it must have been a really hard hit too!

Love your cute button!
Oh and I WISH we had uniforms. Then I (and my sons) wouldn't see so many boobs at high school. It's HORRIBLE! Bring on the turtleneck uniforms!

Enjoy your week off. I think it is good to take some time off periodically.

Poor Elyna! That must have hurt! Good for her to go back to the game.

Uniforms I have thought are a great idea. That way all the kids are dressed alike and then the rich kids won't tease the poor kids for not having the "best" shoes, pants or whatever. My kids have had uniforms in school. I liked it, then I didn't have to worry about what they were gonna wear.

I love the new button! I have that one, and I love that you put my button on your side bar, thanks!

I am starting my snail mail today...

Have a great week off!

enjoy your week off!!

uniforms? we do that on a school by school basis. our school doesn't have uniforms, but I think I would LOVE it if they did. back to school shopping would be SO much easier and then I could save longer for our trips to the over priced and under quality brands like justice.

Enjoy your week off of blogging Cyndy. I'm going to miss reading your blog. Hurry back well rested!

Hope Elayna is okay from the ball to the tummy too.

I won't be able to remember everything to which I want to reply. So I guess I'll have to do multiple posts.

First of all, I love the term "frag." It reminds me of Fraggle Rock, which I love.

Poor Elayna. :( But way to go on being such a tough girl and getting right back out there!

I'm less than thrilled that you're taking a week off. You are one of my favorite bloggers, and when I see that you have a new post, I KNOW that it will be good. You just can't say that about every blogger.

I mostly think uniforms are lame, but I get where they're coming from passing such a statute. However, I would be infuriated if I were a student. Thankfully, we homeschool. So we don't have to worry about this.

I hope you enjoy your kid-free time this summer, but I know it will be heartbreaking.

Last comment, I promise: I have got to check out that Snail Mail thing. I'm sure I would be all over it...in my free time, you know.

Oops. I fibbed. One more comment. Please come enter my children's book giveaway. Today is the last day, and I hardly have any entries. It's really sad because this book is totally awesome. I guess I did a poor job conveying that in the review. Although, I'm pretty sure no one actually reads review. :(

Have a great week off! I hope you will visit with me when you get the chance. All of my grand children wear uniforms to school. They started two years ago and my daughters are loving it..they live in a small town and the first year it was just so weird to see the kids all dressed alike..it is so much easier. I hope you have a positive week and take advantage of those weeks without your kids to rest!

Well, the sleeping-in trade-off is something, at least.

I don't have a strong opinion about school uniforms. At our school, I don't see clothing making all that much of a difference, though I would like to see more modesty at the high school!

Enjoy your week off! I hope it's rejuvenating :)

I'm thinking a blog break may be in order for me too! Cole and Bella's last day of school was last week and they've already got me up to my neck in plans for this week!! Not quite sure when I'm gonna have time to blog!

Your poor daughter...that HAD to hurt! She sounds like a trooper!!

My kids aren't required to wear uniforms at their school.
