Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

Random #1 - I saw three great quotes on friends' Facebook pages yesterday (Martin Luther King Jr Day).

From a high school friend who has two beautiful biracial boys:

"Thank you Dr. King for paving the way & opening doors for my children. May they never know the discrimation you suffered but always remember the sacrifices you made.
"

And from another friend:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

One more:

"He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it." - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Random #2 - I normally would've slept all day, but Shelbie had an ortho appointment. Since the ortho is close to the mall, and Shelbie had gift cards burning holes in her pocked, we stopped there too. It was just me, John and the girls. We had Chinese food for lunch and then had Cinnabon before leaving. I got new Wallflower PlugIns (totally feeding my addiction) from B& BW. It was a very nice afternoon!

Random #3 - My scrolling button marquee thingy has decided not to scroll any more. Any ideas? Suggestions? Interventions? HELP? Please?

Random #4 - Tonight when I woke up for work, John called me outside. There was a big, beautiful owl sitting on a tree branch just across the street from our house. I LOVE owls, and it was so cool to watch him! This isn't him, but he looked just like this:

Random #5 - Andrew has said for years that he sees things and people at his great-grandmother's house. He never sees these things anywhere else. He has seen a man, and an "old woman with a hole in her". Now MIL lives with her mother, the great-grandmother, so he's there every other weekend. He told MIL this weekend that the "old woman with a hole in her" is still there in that house.
Spoooooky!

Do you have any ghostly experiences to share with me?

Happy Tuesday!

That owl is beautiful. I know you said that isn't the actual one you saw...but that must have been awesome to see. I've never actually seen an owl (besides at the zoo), but I've heard them around various places we've lived!

Creepy! I don't have any ghost stories, but I have watched those shows on A&E and am now convinced there are ghosts...what can I say, I am easily swayed!

No ghosts stories but I tend to believe!

Hey Gal! Thank you for stopping by. Your daughter is adorable. Thank you for posting those quotes. I love them. They sure make a person think, don't they? They are so true. One of my favorite things to reiterate is "guilty by association." Even if a person isn't a part of something, if they are close to it, or know about it but do nothing, they are as guilty as if you had done the act. That's what I believe also.

I really hope there are such things as ghosts - but I've never experienced one.

When my oldest was a baby (also an Andrew!) I used to hear things in the nursery all of the time. I'd swear someone was in there with him. After I started talking about how it was freaking me out it stopped. I used to make comments that perhaps my grandmother was coming to see him (she passed away shortly after my husband and I started dating). Then one day, my son was maybe 18months old, we were walking down the stairs and he pointed at a picture and said "That is Nanny and she lives in the sky". I nearly dropped him. However, it confirmed my suspicions over all those noises and who I thought was making those visits!

That would freak me out!!! Your magic scroller is working on my screen?

Ooooh, that's strange that your son can see dead people! But you know look at John Edwards and how successful he's been...you just never know!

Your marquee is scrolling right now.

Oh, I can't tell ghost stories or I won't get any sleep.

Thanks for stopping by. I would be scared to be in a house with appearing and disappearing people.

That is so spooky about the ghostly appearances! I swear we have ghost roaming around here though I've never seen them but things keep getting moved around and go missing. It's weird.

Love the Dr. King quotes! I couldn't agree more. I'm biracial and I know that he helped pave the way for me even being alive.

We have owls too only they aren't quite as big. They're so beautiful!

I love owls... we have one who likes to 'whoo whoo' in the night or early morning hours in the spring/summer/fall... I love listening to him... even when I am tired! I hope to be blessed with a sighting one day! My daughter saw him take off in flight last summer ... envy envy! ;)
Nice visiting! I will come back to your fun dysfunction! love the name!
